Any recommendations for a printer / scanner for a solo working from home??
Small case load so I don’t need anything crazy but still want something reliable, that will last.

We use a Brother MFC-L8900. My partner did a lot of research on what printer to get. It is a higher initial cost, but the functionality to scan and print a large document quickly has been worth it.

Also, because it uses toner instead of ink, it doesn't dry out if you don't use it for a few weeks.

Thank you!

I use an HP office jet pro 9025 and like it. It prints pretty quickly, has a feeder for copying, and can copy/scan/print two sided.

It was my Christmas present to myself my first year out on my own. Literally, that’s all I got for Christmas. I told my husband “I’m covered. I purchased business supplies.” It was worth the price tag.

The app that comes with it is a bit annoying and if it runs out of ink then it also refuses to scan, but those are my only complaints. I do feel like that is a class action law suit waiting to happen. So, if anyone needs a plaintiff for that, then hit me up.

It may seem obvious, but in my experience partners value trial experience over anything else, so get it however you can. For example, my firm will favor a former prosecutor who has seen the courtroom a lot but has no civil litigation experience (not even a depo) over a seasoned associate who has only second chaired cases with a partner but hasn’t tried a case. Even trying a case and losing gives you credibility at my firm because you still did it.

Doctor says I have it, but I honestly don’t believe them. I don’t eat cane sugar (not even in sauces), gluten, dairy, or soy. So not surprised I couldn’t process their drink-I don’t consume stuff like that regularly. I walk a mile or do HIIT training 5x/ week. The condition doesn’t run in my family (and my mom has 4 sisters w/kids-good sample size) (cont’d in comments)

It’s affecting my work because I keep losing assistants and paralegals and then having to get new ones caught up.
