As a result of #metoo, it was revealed that now a lot of male supervisors and councillors are refusing to train/guide their female juniors. Most of them don't want the hassle of being accused of sexual harassment.

We went with Embrace as it had a wellness plan option. Otherwise far and away the most liked was Healthy Paws, then Trupanion.
I would recommend giving them a call! They explain things a lot better verbally and you learn things you wouldn’t otherwise
Yes only a “wellness” plan covers an annual visit! Healthy Paws does *not* have a wellness plan/add on to their standard pet insurance.
We did the math and we pay ~$18/mo for our wellness plan totaling $216 annually. But we get reimbursed up to $250. With how expensive flea/tick medication and heart worm meds are in themselves, plus an annual checkup, we knew we would hit our annual wellness stipend.
Most pet insurance policies are for “accident and injury” only
Pure paws on w 42 is great. The rescue is foster dogs for uses them and they’ve been incredibly helpful and communicative with all the pups
Go across to UES. The Animal Medial Center is the place to go!
Thank you!! These are helpful. Will check out Healthy Paws.
Have heard good things about Pure Paws!
We go to Hudson animal hospital on 61 and 10th, really good , but I get the sense they may be more expensive than some others in the area
We have had vets in the city specifically tell us to find a vet over the river in Jersey because the visits will be significantly cheaper.
Food for thought!
I ended up going with Figo. Heard a lot of good reviews that they actually reimburse you up to 80% for most things. They also don’t have any breed restrictions, just pre-existing condition restrictions.
For wellness plan, just using went with the Banfield (PetSmart) puppy plan because it includes spaying costs. Not a horrible plan but didn’t do tons of research either.
