Any recommendations for breaking into tech? I don’t have any tech background; I do however have some history/knowledge/ minimal experience on building a website for the employees at a previous company. I have 5 years of management experience all in the hospitality and health & human services industry. Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Define what you want to do in tech .. sales, development etc. Learn it ..Take a job at a tech company ... sounds to me you might be ok with project management so maybe explore if thats something you might like

Yea, as the previous guy said, tech is massive, your first step would be to figure out exactly what you'd like to do. I recommend having a primary and secondary goal maybe even tertiary

It's going to be a long shot since you said you don't have any tech background. It's really hard to break into the tech platform if you lack the required skills. But don't be discouraged. Try to figure out what you really want to do then concentrate on your goal.

I spent half of my career in finance and just switched to tech earlier this month. I would suggest spending time on researching the companies and their diff then compare your transferable skills to what they are looking for in the openings. Tech is huge and there are plenty of roles out there but my recommendations based on your post would be to look into UX, customer success, project management or product management then explore further out if those don’t seem to fit. Good luck!

Currently going to school for my cannabis certification but I rarely see any jobs that offer cannabis research. I currently work in a lab/greenhouse environment and would love to continue that line of work with hemp/cannabis. Yet again no luck whatsoever, just finding jobs as budtenders or running a dispensary. Does anyone know where I can find research-based cannabis jobs? I have a degree in horticulture with lab experience.

Thoughts of a black person in public accounting: my management is lacking in diversity which is contributing to me considering positioning myself elsewhere. However, if I position myself elsewhere than I am removing the chance of a minority being promoted into management (myself). I have to do what’s best for me, so I am going to take that new job. Cycle continues with next black/minority team member.

Would someone would be interested on giving guidance on a platform to users regarding IT field problems like how to deal with hectic hours, career growth, job switch, office politics etc.

The guide will be added in the platform and will give time slots after the job when the guide is available and only for that time slot everyday appointments will come for guiding sessions.

A session would last 40 mins and the guide will be given 250Rs. Per video call session and 150Rs per chat session

How do you deal with managers or directors younger than you who don’t have strong leadership qualities due to lack of experience? I’m in my mid-thirties and the director of product is mid-twenties. Microsoft why are you damn obsessed with making so much of your software “start on startup” by default?

It’s so annoying and Microsoft teams is the LeAST efficient chatting app out there so it’s awful on resources. Slack is SO much faster and doesn’t start on startup (I don’t think ?)…

you’re really quite something to blatantly copy the competition, make your product more sluggish, and then add in your nasty ass dark patterns. Microsoft teams = bloatware 90% of the time. Stop prioritizing it
