Hello Fishes. I have received positive feedback from KPMG interviews for consultant position and have submitted documents. I was told I will be getting a call from HR for negotiation in a day or two and then final offer letter will be rolled out. It has been 4 working days and I haven't been contacted yet. Has anyone faced such delay? Or Is it something I should be concerned about?
I had a mediocre background. I am not mediocre. I’ve never gotten past the background rounds. I’ve never gotten to solve a case in an interview setting. I know I would impress. How do I get there?

I’m currently in cloud consulting and would really like to switch into a FAANG company. I was selected for interviews with Amazon, Facebook and Netflix but rejected after the first interview. What are people’s thoughts on sending thank you emails vs thank you cards? Want to know if it seems too much. And when in the process in a series of interviews makes sense to send one or the other?

Has anyone had this happen to them before? I got a job offer from a Big 4 and job description and interviewers never mentioned job travel. I had even asked during my interview if there was any traveling required for any of the clients and they said no. After the offer, HR and the hiring manager told me the job requires 80% travel. I told them I would not be able to travel, as I have some personal things going on, and was not aware of the traveling. They told me they would been to rescind the
How do you ensure consistency on test day? I’m at my goal score (790) on practice tests but want to ensure that I don’t have a precipitous drop in score on test day like I hear so many people have (dropping 50-100 points). I don’t have test day anxiety and have usually done well in standardized tests in the past (SAT), but I wasn’t sure if there was anything specific for the GMAT to look out for.
Just had my Friday completely ruined by an Associate (my firm’s post MBA level) asking me to do the work that she committed to doing in front of the whole team. Already brushing up my resume but before I go I want to see blood and tears. How should I go about ruining this completely incompetent Associate’s career?
I’m sick of the “no pants” joke
If you could ask for anything at your firm - what would you ask for? Caveat: something that is a stretch but realistic. Background: There is some current turmoil and I have been identified as someone they want to stay through it and wait for it to get better. We don’t have many females at the top. I don’t qualify for equity based on current metrics but the metrics used have lots of room for improvement and the current metrics could be “ignored” for me potentially. (Cont)
Partners. Were there stages in your career (Analyst, Consultant, Manager, etc) where you felt things weren’t clicking and that maybe consulting wasn’t for you? What did you do to get over the hump and still find a way to Partner? To be specific, I’m currently a C looking to make manager in a year, and there are manager level responsibilities that I’m struggling to execute proficiently (e.g., asking the right questions to the client, driving work with little guidance, etc)
Currently make 75k in a low cost of living area as a government employee. Big 4 tax background with 5 years experience. Currently working in regulation. I have an opportunity to move back into tax but the catch is it’s in San Francisco. Offer is 130k with a target 10% bonus and 5% pension contribution. Based on my pay and what my spouse could make in SF the pay differential would be a slight decrease based on COL. I’m not seeing a bright future in my government career due to continual budget...
