For those of you who switched to decaf, I found a really delicious Ethiopian decaf coffee https://www.gocupper.com/collections/all-coffee/products/decaf-ethiopia-guji I don’t think I’m gonna go back to caffeinated coffee even after I have the baby. Without caffeine in my body I sleep better now and have even better energy ✌️✌️✌️

I didn’t use pouches much but used to steam and purée large batches of fruit, vegetables on the weekend and freeze in small serving size containers or into ice cubes. I’d pull out what I needed for the next day and let it thaw in the fridge overnight.

Do you need to use pouches specifically rather than jars, cups, bowls, etc.? We used all manner of store-bought baby food, and we always sent it in multiple cups so there was variety in case my son didn’t like something. Maybe half a jar of mixed veggies with a meat, quarter jar of two different single veggies, quarter jar of two different fruits or fruit combos, so a total of five different cups of things. Then we would save the jars in the fridge (or we’d just portion out the whole jar into however many servings we used).
Serenity has pouches with meat and less sugar than other brands. My baby didn’t really like the flavors other than beef though.
Try yumi, they are meal subscription plan for babies just starting on solid. I like it. Well balanced ingredients with minimal sugar.
Pouches are far less nutrient dense than doing actual food. Would you be able to batch steam on designated meal prep days or weekends? By 7 months they should be able to move past purées as well. I’d consider sending them in with ingredients or portions of your own meal - eg cooked pasta (with no added salt sauce or no salt at all), pieces of roasted or stir fried meat, baked or steamed apple, baked sweet potato, steamed broccoli, etc. Most of this I did day before or a few days before to save time on the day of.

Can you provide some support on pouches being less nutrient dense than actual food?

Will daycare feed finger food or does it have to be puree? If they’ll feed finger food, can they heat up food or will it be served at whatever temperature it’s kept in a storage container? Lots of suggestions for bulk prep based on those answers!
If they have to be pouches, I've ordered Hipp before and trust them as I trust their formula. Alternatively, I used to take 1-2 hours every Sunday and make pouches, too. It's pretty quick. You don't need any fancy food processor. Just steam a bunch of stuff, use any hand blender (no need for baby food processors honestly), and then put them in pouches. I use the infantino one. You can make 3 at a time so I could easily make enough for a week at once and then refrigerate/freeze and use as needed.
