Last Wednesday 8/3, I had my final interview with oracle. They are hiring 2 people for role and the hiring manager stated she had more interviews next week and was looking to make a decision by the end of the next week but didn’t specify I’d hear back at the end of next week. It’s now Friday 8/12, is it okay to reach out to the recruiter today for follow up or should I wait until Monday?

I have an interview next week and want to vet the new law firm with questions to determine if there’s a good work-life balance, respect for how work is delegated (i.e., attorneys are not routinely asked to do obvious paralegal work), and what overall systems/structures are in place to make it a functional/successful environment. What sorts of questions do you think would get this info and also cut through the usual bs of “we’re a family here” when in reality no one talks to each other?

If I wanna switch my profile in future(say, I wanna go for data analytics or devops), how hard or easy is that gonna be? (I'm moderately proficient in python and sql)

Looking to pivot from biotech to big tech in a less technical role (bizops, analytics, implementation manager) . I have a degree from Stanford in Biology (c/o 2021) and experience leading technical client implantations, but feel like companies just see my degree isn’t finance/CS/ statistics, and throw out my application. Does anyone have advice on places to look for IT careers? I graduated in December, and I'm looking for work. I have profiles on Indeed, Ziprecruiter and LinkedIn, but I'm not finding anything promising. I'm in the Indianapolis area, and cannot relocate.

I was on PTO last week and had some follow up interviews for a role I was interested in.

The bad news is, I promptly forgot to send thank you notes! (Family PTO in Disney/Kennedy Space Center - so a bit crazed!). I am back in the office today and sent the notes... but, I am wondering how big an issue this could be.

I had a really odd SECOND interview almost 2 weeks ago. (I posted about it in another bowl). Anywho, I was wondering why the interviewer came in with such a negative tone.. and it just hit me...AGEISM!! I'm not quite 40 but the more I think about it, that's definitely what it was. Any experience with this??

I've applied and networked for my dream job and didn't get an interview this time. Also dissatisfied with compensation and some of the responsibilities at my current job but have a lot of opportunity to learn. So the question is do I stay where I'm not thrilled to be now because it's good experience to set me up for the dream job next time there's an opening, or do I leave now to an option that's better pay and more interesting but farther off the path towards my long term goal?

So I'm interviewing, have had loose salary conversation (talked about band but not specifics), and approaching the official offer stage. It's become clear the role is something I'm very well qualified for, but their pay expectations for the role are much lower than mine. How do I ask if I could be considered for a higher level position in the team in a higher salary band instead?

Company (nonprofit) I am interviewing with is hosting an Open House event this weekend. I completed the interview process and was told I would hear back “in a couple weeks - after open enrollment”. I sent a Thank You email after the last interview and another email this morning, inquiring about benefits but did not receive a response.
