Hey everyone! Trying to pivot into Program Management in big tech (preferably looking at Microsoft) any recommendations to stand out and get noticed by the recruiters/hiring manager? I have scoured through LinkedIn to try to find the right person to talk to in the NY office but no luck. Advice and guidance appreciated folks!

I recommend the AWS Cloud Practitioner Course/ Certificate for cloud ( if you are looking for Google Or Azure they will have similar courses) If you are learning from online you need to be careful to avoid tutorial hell. List down your topics and learn them from established ( if required paid) sources.

All the major cloud providers have free training/videos/docs so don’t pay for anything. Look for the training geared for sales peeps as a starting point (understanding terminology and very basic concepts). AWS even has a free cert you can get. I would try to achieve something like that to start. The business application part can be a little more complicated. You’ll just have to research research research as it comes up. A lot of that comes from experience. If you’re really wanting to get a jump you can maybe take a look at some of the enterprise architecture type books like TOGAF. My recommendation is to stick to cloud basics for now. Figure that out first.
Microsoft have learning paths for almost everything they provide a service for. Learn.Microsoft.com is a great place to start but as these are Microsoft specific, balancing them with AWS is best to give a more holistic view of Cloud generally. Microsoft has AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) and AWS has the Cloud Practitioner paths. Also check in with your company to see if the are partners of either as you can sometimes get discounts through the company. I’m also not discounting Google cloud, but I haven’t looked into it to and any comments but it’s there as an option too
