Any recommendations for the best Marriott / Bonvoy hotel in NYC? Wife and I are coming down from CT for a night to relax away from the kids for the first time in a year. Rooftop restaurant would be a plus. Thanks!

As much as I hate Times Square, the W on 47th is pretty nice, and the corner rooms have great views. My go-to used to be the Parker Meridien, but it’s no longer affiliated with Bonvoy. Avoid the Element Times Square West at all costs.

Essex House. Hands down.

Gramercy Park

Depends on what Burroughs you like. If you like downtown, try W NYDT or Sheraton Tribeca.

Essex house and then walk over to Jean George outdoor terrace at Columbus circle

General musing - it seems like the vast majority of recs in here are for super expensive hotels and resorts (St Regis, etc). I work in consulting and make good money but can’t fathom spending $600+ a night on a hotel. Am I really in the minority or is it just that ppl staying at the Ritz want to show off?

Hey team need some help - I’ve flown United since I was a child, and naturally I’ve flown with them through and through my consulting career. I just flew on Delta for the first time and it was so much nicer than what I’ve been used to. What’s loyalty like here at Delta - and is it worth status matching and becoming Delta loyal? NYC based if that makes any difference. TIA!!

Best way to blow Bonvoy points on a 1 night stay in Honolulu? Considering Ritz, Royal Hawaiian and Moana Surfrider. Any good experiences?

I have Amex points on corp card and need to buy a long haul flight. It looks like it’s best to use them by booking travel through Amex but I’m confused about the bit that says I’ll get a statement credit when I pay with points. Does that mean I’ll then have to spend more on the card to get rid of the credit?

How safe is Houston downtown for a female staying alone with a young kid for a few months? Being very close to the office and daycare, and availability of public transport (doesn't drive) are reason for preffering downtown. However, have been reading about the recent crime surge there. If someone is generally back home by 8 PM or earlier, and will probably take Uber locally, is it still risky. Also welcome any good apartment suggestions. Thanks

Currently interviewing for a designer role at Tesla - wanted some advice. The hiring manager has seemed uninterested and always dropped off interviews early and without answering any of my questions. He also mentioned that he's lost 4 designers from the team recently (red flag!). I think it'd be a cool role, but it sounds like I'd be the only designer and there's not a ton of support, BUT if I do well - lots of room for growth and promotion. Plus internal transfers after a year also an option?
