Things that are traditional (but a slightly ‘fancy’ version in nice packaging from a classic brand) - e.g. fortnum and mason tea, harrod’s shortbread or biscuit tins, selfridges / JL home decor etc. Also if you are looking for a low key novelty item and / or sweets…Percy pigs 🐽

Do they know the classic British brands like Selfridges, F&M, Harrods?
If they do, the ‘own brand’ gifts/items from these stores have always gone down well with my family back home. You can find things that are unique and not too expensive
Also if they drink, then any local small batch gin from duty free
Alcohol from a small craft distiller (not duty free!) - there are some great Cornish rums for example, and loads of gins. Nyetimber wine (produced in Kent and won oodles of awards).
Wooden egg and dippers tray - not sure if that is a thing in the US?
Cheese? Really mature stuff with some local chutney?
Or pickled onion monster munch, make your own hamper from cadburys?
Something to do with football/ rugby or cricket?
