If you could earn top status at any of the big 3 out of LAX which would you pick and why?

I am planning to apply for H1b next year, and want to join Masters degree August 2021 in a different state than my work location. I plan to work remotely for a year while I'm in school. If I get selected for H1B, I will be working in Cap-gap until Oct. 1st. My concern is: can I start school in August next year, while still waiting for H1B till Oct. 1st? A bit of a vent- I love being a producer, and producing certainly involves a certain level of expected stress, but it’s so hard being at the end of the agency process. It feels like so much is asked of us and we are so frequently set up to fail (time, money, or communication-wise), no matter how proactive we are in trying to mitigate these things. I feel these pressures and other departments’ understanding of production are getting worse with time.

Do agencies hire art producers still or is everything becoming integrated?

I’m sure someone addressed this but what is the consensus on proof of vaccination for cast and crew. I work in the commercial world and it seems to be all over the place. Client has kicked the can down to agency/production. I’m production, I say fully vaxxed. Agency producer says fully vaxxed. Overall, most crew is happy about a vax policy. I just do t see how we can accommodate The anti-vaxxers and still provide a safe shoot. What say you?

Asking for a friend; but, in the world of non union digital content shoots, what are the meal period laws for crew on pre-light and shoot days? I always follow union rules to be safe and because it’s the bare minimum producers should do for their crew, but hearing about a production team not feeding their crews ANY meals and only feeling the talent and client is really getting under my skin, sounds illegal, and I want to get to the bottom of what the rules really are. Any advice is appreciated 💖

Thinking of going freelance in a few months because I have gone 3 years without a raise and my work-life balance is awful. I’m not in a big ad agency market, so there are only a small number of places I could go to if I decide freelance is not for me and want to go back to agency life. Am I crazy to consider doing this now? Any advice from agency producers who took the leap?
