Any recommendations on double-strollers? Also, will have a nearly 2 yr old + new baby. How long do kids typically tolerate / continue to use strollers?

Double stroller is a lifesaver for me. Mine are 18mo apart, youngest is 8mo oldest is just over 2. We got one before babe was born with the bassinet attachment and used it from day 1. We go on walks every day, and my 2yo is about 50/50 riding and walking. We got a Summit X3 used and I highly recommend both the stroller and buying second hand.

I have a baby jogger citi mini GT double. I also have two of the singles. My rather large 5 year old still likes riding in the double and single versions. But she’s almost 6 and time is up! Regarding two singles: I bought a double when pregnant with DD2 but ended up getting a second single soon after she was born so my husband and I could each take a single and split up if need be while out and about which was super useful (we live in city and walk everywhere). Plus my nanny still came to care for my first while I had maternity leave so there wasn’t much time we actually needed a double - not really until my leave was over and she was in charge of both at the same time. Bottom line; you may find two singles useful if you will often have an adult per kid available at the same time.

Joovy caboose ultralight, it's a sit and stand that you can put two seats in or carseat, folds down like an umbrella and weighs very little. Mine are 22 months apart and this is fantastic!

I have the same. It’s really compact compared to other double strollers. We have the attachment for the infant car seat. We’ve taken it on international travel and it fit into small restaurants and apartments in Europe.

We had an uppababy double stroller and a sit and stand. I hate the way the set and stand looks and has terrible shocks, but seems to be most comfortable for the kids.

With sit/stand be aware of weight and height limits. By the time I was looking into them my older daughter was nearly too big (3 yrs old)

My 21 month old rarely uses his stroller anymore. Wants to walk and use the wagon.

Baby jogger city select. I went the cheap route the first time because I just couldn’t fathom spending that much on a stroller. I originally got a graco double that I could snap car seat into. That thing was so bulky it wouldn’t fit in the trunk of my car which was huge. City select was worth it. So many configurations with car seat and one seat, double seats, single seat when I only have one kid, and single seat plus bench seat or standing platform. Mine are 26 months apart.

We just got the Veer wagon. I was hesitant based on price but it was a gift and I’m so happy we got it. My 2 year old is in love with it and you can attach an infant seat to it so we are hoping to use it in lieu of a bigger double stroller. Highly recommend.

Hi fam! Me and my partner (females) just got an oral consent from my partners best friend (gay male) to be a sperm donor. Anyone has experience with this? I know lesbians usually go to sperm bank but we wanted to know “baby daddy” and have him involved as a godparent and when kids ask questions introduce him as a father. Personal life stories and dos and donts welcome. All my friends are straight or gay men so I have this resource and general internet.

Why is maternity leave, policy and other women's issues not important as compared to Juneteenth, coed bathrooms, and all the other issues in the media today? Women are half the population and at an average of 2.1 kids per woman, these are major issues. Are we not vocal enough? Organized enough? Not a serious voting demographic? Too grateful things are better in this generation? What is it? Why does 50% of the population matter less compared to these smaller marginal groups?

Hypothetical here: you are a parent and your child got into two schools for undergrad. The first school is a US top 30 University out-of-state, but you have to pay full sticker price ($60k+ per year). The second school is a good in-state university and 20% the cost. If your child goes in-state, you agree to invest the residual ($50k per year) in an S&P 500 fund that releases upon graduation. What is the best outcome for your child?

My wife and I are due with a baby girl in few weeks. Still not aligned on the last name though. In our community it's the first name of the father which typically becomes the last name of the child. Considering she has put in most of the effort and carried the child for 9 months I strongly feel the last name of the child should be her first name though. I would like my name as the middle one. Don't see why this system continues to be patriarchal.

In a week, I have a black tie wedding coming up at a beautiful indoor/outdoor city venue. I’m stumped about a dress because I’m also 3 weeks postpartum from my first child. I gained 50lbs during my pregnancy and have already lost 35 since the birth. (It’s amazing how much of it was just baby + bloat!) I am looking for a dress that will hide the mommy tummy (some loose skin that’s still tightening). I’m also nursing and my boobs are HUGE rn. Any recs on how to try to dress this new body?? 🥲

I was checking and comparing healthcare costs for the two companies my spouse and I work for. For me with HSA it is around $900 per month for just Medical, Vision and Dental. For my wife (with HSA) it is $300 per month. Both have $3000 deductible. My out of pocket max is $14000 while my wife’s is $7000. All of these numbers are for a family of 4. Why do we have such a huge difference in healthcare costs for similar coverage? My wife’s company is 30K employees and my company is 300K employees.
