Any recommendations on where a fresh graduate should live? Near a blue line stop to access Ohare as well as downtown easily?

Lincoln park and lake view are so painful getting to and from the airport, regardless of who is footing the bill you’re wasting your life away in a cab. Wicker Park has tons of new grads, is super convenient to the airport and downtown.

Buck town or wicker Park all the way. Based on your criteria, I wouldn't look anywhere else

+1 for Wicker Park! Such a fun area to live in. Get a roommate or two to make it even more fun! I lived there with two roommates in an amazing modern duplex under $850pp after graduating. I was right off the Division blue line and it was near restaurants, bars, shops, gym, and a grocery store.

Lakeview / Lincoln Park—wicker is super cool but I literally never see of my friends that live there and can’t convince any of my non wicker friends to go there More public transpo options, bus system is way better than you’d expect, and way more fun stuff for young people just by virtue of being bigger / more accessible

Lakeview/Lincoln Park are better for fresh grads. Easy to downtown and then work pays for the Uber to the airport

I’m in Wicker. Basically you should be looking at anywhere along the Chicago, Division, Damen, California, Western, Logan square stops.

Old Town is dope af too. Near the lake, near multiple lines of transportation and there is a ton of things to do.

Junior Real Estate Associate needed in htown. DM for details

I’d to get a job in a small architecture firm or work for a developer to help build up my network. For the past 6 years I’ve taught high school architecture and engineering and done real estate on the side. I have an industrial design degree and tremendous construction and real estate sales knowledge. I also started architecture school but stupidly switched to industrial design. I don’t want to go back to school for architecture. Ultimately, I want to own my own company developing real estate.

My firm has a collections budget (80% of your billable rate x 1850 hours) and an hourly budget that must be met in order to be eligible for a bonus. The firm cares very little about originations and will reward someone for making their collections over someone who brings in new work. I missed my collection budget due to some odd timing with a client, but originated more than all my peers so no bonus for me. I’ve been at this same mid level firm for 9 years and it’s all I know. Is this normal??
