Any recs for a semi-affordable, last minute get away? I’m still 100% remote, I’m burned out & I need a change of scenery for a few days. I’d plan to go for a long weekend & then work remotely for part & take part completely off.

St. Croix, USVI is very easy because it’s still domestic and has good cell and WiFi service. Curaçao is also a very affordable and incredibly gorgeous destination.

The OP said he’s only going for a few days. Though I think Hawaii, Costa Rica, and the VI are fine ideas, it is a little far! I’d could think Miami, but if you’re from Denver, why not Vegas and get a great room at the Wynn. The food at their steakhouse is fantastic, by the way, and hang out by the pool and see a show. Or gamble, if that’s your thing.

like

If that’s the case then perhaps, but social distancing is sort of impossible unless you want to go camping )not my thing). But if the OP is vaccinated… but one cool thing to do in Vegas is to take a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon to see the sunset, land, spend some time in the canyon, then go back to Vegas’s private airport and seeing the city at night. Not as expensive as you’d think. I did it once with a friend I was there with whose wife doesn’t like helicopters. I had a blast.

Oh man your options are endless…Maui is beautiful right now. Hot during mid day so you won’t feel bad about working with the AC on, but unbeatable in the mornings and afternoon. Also believe they are offering incentives because they need tourists to keep their economy afloat.

Look in to Hawaii airline. When I went a few months ago they were offering a free round trip if you signed up for their card—no minimum purchase amount required. Seemed like a no brainer travel hack.

like

Where are you?

Take a train ride to another State. You’ll have nothing to do (unless you take a personal hotspot) because the internet on trains is hit or miss and you can unwind and let your mind have some still time. Then, you visit the destination and hop back on the train and go home. I just did this and it was really nice to check out and unplug.

Any suggestions about what to ask, any questions you found useful to ask that helped you understand new team mates quickly? Thank you! 😊

I have been at my company for a little less than 4 years now. I’ve had the third highest sales last year out of a team of 50 and consistently the highest outbound calls per week. They told me I can start WFH once I hit $1mil in profit, but then rescinded right before I hit the goal. They have also denied simpler request like time off, when I know they have approved this before for others. I feel super unappreciated, but the money is great. I’m not sure if I should look elsewhere and start over?

“Can we make the drizzle a little more luscious?”

My issue is less with the fact that the word “luscious” is pretty binary. The drizzle is either luscious or it isn’t. My issue is the “a little more” part. So, it’s luscious right now. We want it MORE luscious—but definitely not a lot more, just a little. Otherwise it would be TOO luscious. Can’t have that.

Hey all. Seeing a lot of posts here of people sharing their "books". As a marketing strategist looking for a new opportunity, what is essential to include in a book? My work isn't exactly flashy like a designer's might be. Should I put some of my case studies together? Do you all host your books online? Any tool recommendations for creating these?
