A2 in audit and not really feeling like it’s the job for me - been feeling the downstream effects of staffing shortages and having started my job fully remote with zero office time. I’ve made it this far and got my CPA and am basically asking myself “now what?”. Don’t know where I want to be anymore or what my options are. Looking for some guidance on potential career paths.

Boss is gaslighting? Just experienced this for the first time - and would love to hear others’ experiences, too. For the past few years, my micromanager boss asked that I send them every draft of every contract to review, no matter how minor. In my performance review, when asked why I wasn’t promoted, they said that a reason was because I need to learn to stop sending them drafts to review! I said that I only did this because they asked for it, and they said they don’t remember saying that!

I have been offered a position in-house at a $500M-$1B company, mid-sized city LCOL, 10 YOE in private practice. They offered me $120k, w opp for undefined discretionary bonus. No paid parental leave or 401(k) match & only 1 week PTO in first year (but claim they have discretion for more). Is there any way to salvage this? Salary guides suggest TC should be around $200-215k. I want to get my foot in the door but this seems crazy low.

Thoughts on these two positions: similar positions in terms of area of work. Both have largely similar hybrid schedule.

1 - Public F1000 that has been around longer. Bigger immediate team (more people above and below the proposed role - sounds like more support?).

2 - Company recently went public, so a lot of processes still need to be created. Smaller team (report directly to GC; and fewer people below to support the proposed role). Pay is more than No.1.

I’ve received a solid in house offer (base salary is only 25k less and I’m getting a signing bonus + eligible for large annual bonuses) after being at my BigLaw firm a little over a year. I have 6 YOE, started in government then went to a midsize firm then BL. My mentor wants me to think about staying in BigLaw atleast two years before leaving to increase my marketability, but I have a good offer and don’t want to stay in BL unless I really need to. Thoughts?
