Anyone have luck getting permanent (or permalance) remote gigs with US-based companies? I’ve done freelance and sometimes been asked for as much as a W8-BEN, but wondering whether to put effort into pursuing gigs that would normally require a TN or O-1 if they were on-site. Thoughts?

I’m in industry. And they’ve been asking us to return to the office since April. I’m in DC and there’s an indoor mask mandate again. So many companies seem to have put a pause to their return to office plans. But not us. I went in twice this week. It was nice to see people but felt a bit pointless. In meetings everyone was at their desks on teams calls. Same situation if we were working from home. Everyone is vaccinated which makes me feel better. But I am considering finding a remote role. I'm a qualified attorney in South Africa looking to expand my career into startups/remote global opportunities. I've gotten a few interviews (mostly for contracting-focused roles since it's probably easier to adapt to and what I used to do), but haven't gotten an offer yet. If anyone has any tips on which online courses would make me more attractive to (eg. US and Europe-based) remote companies please share. I'd like to know which skills are transferable and valued. Any other tips welcome.

A guy asked me to sleepover after hanging out with him and I decided not to because I just wanted to be in my bed, then before leaving he told me to text him when I got home but I also didn’t (I didn’t want to wake him up). Haven’t heard from him in 3 days… did I just fuck this up? I feel like if he was genuinely interested he would’ve reached out regardless!!

My daughter is 2.5 and very attached to me, which is lovely, but can be challenging. My husband is a fantastic, hands-on dad, but most of the time, my daughter actively rejects him, clinging to me instead. this is heartbreaking for him. We both work four days a week, spending our respective days off with her. I don’t travel a lot for work due to the pandemic, but have a feeling this started a few months ago when I was away for 2 nights for work. Has anyone had a similar situation? Any advice?

Hello! I have 9 years total of healthcare experience and 5 years of that I was a Residential supervisor for a brain injury rehabilitation. I don’t have a degree only college credits I’m trying to obtain a Psychology degree. I’ve been applying to countless jobs on Indeed and barely get an call backs for an interview. I’m getting ready to start my FT position as a HUC (Health Unit Coordinator) in Labor and Delivery. I know it will be a while before I do anything of the sort, or IF I do anything of the sort. Hi all, new to fishbowl. I am currently a PTA working in homecare. I am considering changing career paths to non-clinical. Everything I search for available jobs in the pay range that I need seems to come up as sales, (Sr, executive, etc) I have zero sales experience, but could see myself working as a healthcare liason, recruiter, care coordinator, or pharm sales rep. I live in Dayton, OH. I would love some insight or feedback. I also see Gpac recruiting popping up, is this a reputable co? Ty!

Hello! Any CST/CSFAs on here? I'm curious about your salary and location! My small community hospital was recently bought by a very large hospital system. They gave large raises to 95% of our employees across all specialties (some called what they got "life changing") but our group was overlooked or disregarded with no explanation! Now we are losing employees (4 have put in notices in the last 3 weeks and pretty much everyone is looking). Any suggestions on getting someone to reassess our wage?
For nurse cases manager positions:

I applied for a job within my unit that I do not qualify for. Now, I have an interview for this job. Me knowing I do not meet most of the qualifications for this position has my imposter syndrome thinking I shouldn’t even do this interview because it would be a waste of time. Has anyone felt this way?
Anyone have any contacts at conifer I applied for a job with them that I am very interested in.
Just a question for those here. What does anyone see as a job outlook for a pharmacy technician that has 15 years of experience and is studying for the CPhT? I would like to return to 100% remote work and, understandably, most job postings that are about my caliber are requiring the cert. I am thinking of possibly pivoting into an IT job that would be fully remote later on down the road, but I’m interested in seeing what is possible now (and an average pay) for someone with my experience.
