Solar here. You looking at residential or utility scale solar?

Utility

How big are the in house departments at most solar companies? Considering a similar shift from construction law…

Follow. Regional counsel in construction firm (mostly commercial private jobs). Wondering about the transition to utility solar. Everytime I look at an opportunity I am intimidated by the regulatory aspect.

Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project. Am I aiming too high? I was an sr. account executive/broker in the financial field for the past 15 years. I focused on both retail and B2B for clients. We also sold our trading platform to clients (saas) as well. I’ve been applying to enterprise account exec. positions at software companies and getting interviews. However, they are rarely progressing into the later rounds. Should I be applying to mid-market or lower to break into the tech space? Any input is appreciated!

Hello everyone, I have an initial screen with a recruiter this week for a role on the AWS ISV partner sales team. The title indicates it’s a “senior manager” level which would be a step down from where I am now (Director), but I’m willing to have the conversation since I’m very interested in the company. What level can I expect this to be at (I’m not familiar with the L5s, L6s etc. leveling), what salary range is reasonable for that level (OTE, base and commissions)? I’m in NYC/10 YOE.

I managed to be hired by a really good company so naturally the impostor syndrome in me is now in full gear. Obviously, I must know things to have been hired, but I feel like there's so much I still don't know about product design. I got here through short courses and some books and articles and faking it till I made it. I am thinking to take a proper PD course now that I can afford it, if not to learn something new, then to affirm what I already know.

Thoughts on this plan of mine? Hehe

My friend just let me know that her job, Radish Fiction, is doing layoffs. They gave the employees the decision to either voluntarily quit with severance or stay with the company. But if they stay, there’s still a chance they may be affected by a round of mandatory layoffs.

I’m shocked because the company seemed pretty cool to work at and seemed to be doing fine. I even wanted her to give me a heads up if a role opens. Now, her career is hanging in the balance.

I'm a 3rd-year corporate transactional attorney with a private firm. Around 50 attorneys, which is as big as it gets for the state I'm in. I've become disillusioned with the partnership track career path fairly quickly and don't think it's for me. Before taking a large pivot and leaving the law entirety, I've thought about going in-house.

(1) Are there any downsides to going in-house too early?

(2) Would it make it more difficult to go back to private practice if I don't like that experience?

I’ve been interviewing at numerous places in-house but the process has been very slow. I have an offer from a small law shop which aligns with everything I want but comp is low end of in-house (and not on the radar for law firms at all). If I make it to last round in-house interviews, what are the chances I’ll get the offer? Also, how can I ask the law firm to wait to see how the in-house interviews pan out? Or do I tell the in-house companies I have an offer already? Thanks.
