Big 4 Senior Manager here. Just got rejected from McKinsey after I had 2 interviews last week. Applied for a "Cyber / Digital / Technology" position which turns out to be marketing for thezezezezeze
Is there an comparison between big 4 titles ?
What’re the exit opportunities like in terms of roles responsibility and comp for someone leaving b4 consulting after 4-6 years (senior consultant - manager level from off campus). What’re the best industries to exit into? What can one expect? Try not to be too harsh with responses haha
B4 for 110 base (Idk bonus yet) or boutique for 130 base +15% bonus. Senior consultant level
Any advice on choosing between Big 4 firms? I was offered a position with EY strategy and transactions group but also have the opportunity to transfer to the advisory practice at KPMG.
How often are B4 supply chain and ops teams traveling? Obviously depends on the project, but any rough estimates?
Looking-for-inspiration post: Didn’t start out too well and worked at a WITCH Consulting arm for 8 years and now finally got my break into big 4 (have always wanted to work here). Haven’t traveled extensively for work (WITCH Consulting works differently) and excited to travel etc. At the same time, anxious if I could perform as expected at the big4. I am 34 now and not thinking about making partner. Just want to prove to myself that I’m worthy of big4.. anyone else traveled a similar path?
1. What is the difference in strategy consulting and advisory (hours, work, companies)? 2. Do the big 4 do strategy consulting or is that MBB? 3. If you’re (hypothetically a first year) in an advisory role, can you switch to strategy consulting at another company?
I recently got a tax analyst position at b4 for international tax. They said it’s hybrid and I do have a son in grade school. Should I live close to my family who can assist me but I’ll have a 1hr commute to work or live close to work with no assistance?
Doing some benchmarking. Home grown, TC progression in a strategy / consulting role in consulting, Big 4, MBB, the rest in Canada. Sample -> Analyst (62k), Consultant (70-75k), SC (80-85k), M (100-110K), SM (140 to 190K), Partner (250k onwards)
It's interesting that after SOX, all B4 except Deloitte sold their consulting arms, and then rebuilt it by purchasing Strategy& and Parthenon, and now EY is spinning off its Audit practice.
In UK, regulators ordered all B4 to separate audit practice so other B4s might see how it works in the UK and try to implement worldwide as well.
Interviewing for an Associate Partner role at MBB, currently big 4 SM with base at $240k. What would be a good base? The range online is pretty vast. 11 yrs consulting experience + 5 years industry prior to consulting. Thanks
What kind of raise would be competitive and fair for jumping from public (big 4) to private for tax, for any level? And would I expect almost no growth in salary in private if there’s no promotion? And is jumping from public to private through audit usually grants a better raise? Thanks for any insight!
Does any distance mba or executive post graduation program will be considered valid in big 4 firms ? If so can u suggest some good University for post graduation program

Planning to leave accounting for a year to visit family/travel a bit. Best ways to maintain CPE?
HELP! Forte Fellowship with $$ at Fuqua or $ at Kellogg? I just got off the WL at Kellogg and am so overwhelmed bc I haven't been invested in it over the last 6 months like I have with Fuqua. So torn
I got an offer with Microsoft for a very senior role and it would require me to move to Redmond, which I think would be very hard on my family. I don't know that I'd like it there myself. But should I try it for a few years and then be better positioned long term? It feels like a rough time to move the family.
Are ICLN, ARKK, ARKG still good long term investments for a retirement account?
I know the hype has died down a bit as they haven’t been doing as well recently, but wanted to check if those with long term horizons were still feeling confident about them.
1st gig as a lead. Different team lead set up time with my analyst to give unsolicited ‘coaching’. Analyst left the meeting in tears. Tips for how to to have a constructive convo with the other lead?
I will be joining EY GDS in last week of Jan 2022.

Help me feel better: What’s one thing you thought you’d unforgivably dropped the ball on, and how did it make you/the thing/your career.... better?
Do consulting companies in the UK usually sponsor employee visas or prefer candidates who already have the same? Can you suggest which companies in the UK is currently hiring and also open to hire international candidates?
Well done, Jeff B. 🚀
