Alvarez is a low base / high bonus pay structure that’s based on Billings and collections for the year. It can be highly variable year to year.

Which group are you most interested in? CPI, PEPI, NACR, etc. ?

like

Hi, i am in CPI. In general, good and competent people. It’s different than other consultancies compared to types of people... not a lot of folks come in from other firms, we hire a lot from industry.

like

Thanks! How does it compare with MBB & Big 4s in terms of market reputation, quality of consulting and client base (especially with respect to S&O consulting)?

like

Market rep: strong but we lose projects a lot due to lack of brand knowledge not pitch decks/depth of talent etc. S&O we do very well on execution based strategy projects... lots more than deck building as we often sell in the implementation... client base is diverse, i am working on a large company’s M&A of a start up and really like it. In re: PEPI, they work crazy hours and comp is aggressive.

like

PEPI US is determined as a % of total billable hours; compensation gets more complicated the more senior you are (e.g. lead working credit). Otherwise projects can vary from 70-80 to 50-55 hours per week. Diligence-related work has the longest hours from my experience. That being said, comp is very aggressive .

like

Interested in knowing specifically about CPI.

Bump. I am interested in PEPI as well (bonus structure)

Thanks. Thats helpful. I heard the total comp is determined by the % of the total billable hours (for example 25%). Is that true for PEPI US? Re: hours, how crazy? 70-80 h/week?

In re: PEPI, yes. You are rewarded for the long hours in bonus.

Hours, 70+?

I have been here going on 8 years. Likely have avg. 55 hours a week. Have gone crazy at times and put in crazy hours. However comp is not that variable on the low in. Only on the upper end. It is either high or outrageous! YOU MUST BE ABLE TO EXECUTE AND BE A TRUE OPERATOR IN PEPI. For that, you will be handsomely rewarded in a firm that has a great culture, great leaders, interesting work and a comp model that allows you to live where and how you want.
