Any skincare experts? Im not sure why my cheeks are always red. Dermatologist has diagnosed me with seborrheic dermatitis which leads to peeling and redness around my nose. I plan to look into hormonal issues that may be causing this.

Could be rosacea

This used to be my skin! I have rosacea and lot of people with rosacea also have seb dermatitis too. I’d focus on gentle, hydrating skincare. I use a gentle face cleanser or noble zinc soap, aveeno calming serum, and dr jart ceramide moisturizer. I also use 10% azelaic acid every other night before moisturizer.

If it doesn’t make a different check with derm for a Rx topical

Did they tell you how to treat it? Seb derm is fungal, and is treated with things like ketoconazole (the active ingredient in dandruff shampoo).

likehelpful

Cool. Keep in mind, if it’s ketoconazole cream, that can be drying to skin so be sure to moisturize. If it’s irritating you, you can buffer it, where you apply moisturizer first, then apply the cream over it.

I use inkey list Oat cleanser + Facetheory 15% Azelaic acid for 1 month

It completely transformed my skin and helped build the barrier back!

I get this too, I thought it was related to my acne....

The are several laser treatment that can help with it

First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Cream.

My wife is a skin care consultant. She may be able to help you. I’ll dm you her contact info.

I have my Esthetician's license and I'd say to wash your face with gentle, non-irritating products - I'd avoid drug store, as even the well known ones have ingredients that can be irritating. A French brand called Avene is affordable and focuses specifically on products for sensitive skin:

If it's itchy / sensitive: https://www.aveneusa.com/concerns/eczema-pronehttps://www.aveneusa.com/concerns/eczema-prone

The bottom three on this screen specifically help with redness:

I hope this helps! Otherwise, I'd see about potentially getting a prescription (like hydrocortisone) from your Doc.

Krave Beauty - great barrier relief

I have rosacea and seb derm. The worst. If seb derm Head and shoulders makes a prescription strength shampoo that you could use to wash your face with. If rosacea you're going to have to get a different type of medication topical for that. There's not too much that you can take orally and changing diet really doesn't help too much.

Also seb derm is flaky... Kind of like dandruff but on your face. Mostly centered around your forehead eyebrows and sides of your nose

Rosacea is a common cause of facial redness and stinging sensation, but not usually flaking. On the other hand, seborrheic dermatitis can cause flaking in the classic T-zone region. “Hormonal issues” are not common causes. Consult your dermatologist for a proper assessment.

I quit my job at a bank call center (MF dealer) didn’t give out a 2 weeks. I’m finishing up my licenses and school starts in 2 weeks. I’m 22 with 3 years of banking experience, 1.5 years of investment associate experience. Do you think that leaving without giving a notice will follow me in the future? It’s a call center, and I was not able to control my schedule so we always got it 2-3 weeks in advance but couldn’t plan ahead. Will school/scheduling be a good excuse if my next employer asks?

Hey all, any recommendations for soothing, rich moisturizers (or other products) that address redness and irritation? I use retinol a few times a week and find that sometimes it causes redness and flaking.
