Please don’t judge me. I have a spending problem and have wracked up about $10k in credit card debt. I created a budget and a plan to pay it all off in 12-18 months, but am worried about my spending habits. Any books, tips, etc that you recommend?

My life is a Gordian knot of problems. Pretty much every major pillar is a mess: I’ve been trying to deal with abusive family for years, and recently my longterm boyfriend broke up with me, and my job is being given to someone else while I’m pushed to a lesser position. I’ve been trying so hard for so long. I’ve been job hunting for months. I am tired. It really feels like death is the quick and easy solution, the metaphoric “sword” that will solve the unsolvable.

Advise working with a coworker who doesn't "answer the question directly": I just joined a new company and I am starting to work with a coworker but I feel like he tends to deflect my questions all the time and he often gives a vague/BS answer. FOR EXAMPLE, I stepped in reviewing the list of deliverables needed for the project, I provided my input but instead of discussing the actual context, he would just gave me a bunch of historical background information. How do I "cut to the chase"?

Partners in BIG 4: How is your leadership reacting to location changes requested by partners? My firm is struggling to keep the people back in major cities as partners wants to move to sunny areas with no taxes. I can see both sides of the argument but trying to figure where we are likely to land.

I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power. I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about. However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?

Super unhappy with my current project/firm and looking to pivot quickly. Struck out at an MBB final round last week, had been prepping for a while. What’s the best course of action moving forward? Continue networking, applying, and trying to get referrals? Not sure how much longer I can take it doing current work. For context, went to an Ivy and have 2YOE. Any help’s appreciated.

Hi, Consulting Moms! I need advice - I am leaving industry to return to consulting. I have offers from KPMG and Deloitte, and we are looking to start a family ASAP (we have been actively trying and I have a feeling it would be just my luck to start a new job and find out I’m pregnant). Would love your insight around personal experience with hours per week, work-life balance, culture, etc. Offers are same level/role/scope (Change Management / Transformation / Human Capital) and same salary. TY!

I am rolling off a project sooner than expected. Project wants me to go through the amendment but I don’t get the point but the time I know my result it will almost be time to roll off.

Hi 🐠! My firm is willing to file an EB3 GC for me, however I’m from a highly backlogged country and was wondering what’s the realistic timeline for it from start to finish? The process seems to be stressful, to say the least. Alternatively, I have the ability to venture out into Canada (as I’m yet to pursue an MBA, after which I plan on pivoting into a diff. industry). What would you do?
