Any specific type of workout classes out there for men to help me hit the next gear? Mainly focused on building strength/weight gain and elevating overall fitness.

Hit full body work outs 3 days a week. Have each workout centered around a compound lift such as squat, deadlift, or bench. Also try to get into a calorie surplus, if you don't track your meals just make sure you eat enough protein, 1 gram per bodyweight. It works wonders! Good luck.

How long have you been doing this? Are you tracking weights to ensure progressive overload? Have you been taking creatine? How much of a surplus are you in and how much protein are you getting? This will help dial kn a few suggestions.

Outside of strength… consider 3-6hrs a week of zone 2 training (rucking, walking at an incline, etc) plus 1 day a week of VO2 max training (all out intervals… I do this with boxing which could be a great in person thing to do once a week like you are looking for). The zone 2 builds a big aerobic foundation and the sprint work helps maximize your general aerobic fitness.

Your goals of strength / weight plus overall fitness aren’t exactly at odds with each other but you do need to be really thoughtful with the plan to progress in both categories.

If you’re focused on building muscle, a solid lifting program with progressive overload is the way to go. I don’t have specific programs to recommend but I’m sure others/google will have suggestions. Workout classes typically have more of a cardio focus which won’t help you gain weight and strength. I love f45, orange theory which both have strength aspects, but are too focused on cardio for what you’re looking for.

I’ve been going to F45 sessions and even their strength classes aren’t enough for strength building. Like IBM1 mentions, studios like F45 and orange theory have more cardio focus than you’d want. CrossFit could be more intense than you want but it’s worth a try if you haven’t done it

Okay everyone, I need to rant here.

I'm so sick and tired of getting an email everyday! And I mean every single day getting a COVID 19 email saying there are cases.

My school gets so many cases, I firmly believe we need to go back on lock down and online. This is getting ridiculous that we put state funding over the well being of our students and staff!! I dont want to get sick nor get covid or spread it to our students.

Anyone have stories of abnormal 20 week scan? I had one where the the ultrasound tech is not sure whether the heart is unsound or whether it’s the baby’s position that makes it appear so. So I have completely lost interest in my area of practice mainly because I haven’t been exposed to many matters (our team is really slow) and I am the most junior in the team. I am debating going to therapy for some anxiety issues I have but I truly feel like I understand why I feel the way I do and I manage to cope with it well enough.
