Teaching tolerance is a good resource! They have this series to address anti-bias in education. https://www.tolerance.org/professional-development/critical-practices-for-antibias-education. We should always be open to educating people, especially as educators 😉
Honestly, I think anti bias training is ridiculous. If you need to train people how not to be biased, then it’s a lost cause. This is not something that you can just teach adults how to do.
You’d think so however many of us have biases that we don’t always realize we have. I think it is good to explore these. I personally do not know a good program though. A friend had one with beads the other day; my friend does not teach at my school. I could tell it hit a nerve with her. Sometimes, the simplest thing really hits home. She’s a wonderful and compassionate teacher and former nurse but even after years working with people of all ages and backgrounds, she had an epiphany. It’s never too late unless we don’t try at all.
