Any suggestions for a weekday mother daughter girls day? (I’m the daughter, 26 yo for reference.) we have a car and are open to an adventure day like kayaking (would love activity/location recs) or pampering (shopping, spa type - again would love recs). Ideally within 1 hr driving distance

My brother has 2 kids, aged 6 and 3. They never call or keep in touch but take full on advantage of my 77 year old mother who has health issues and debilitating back pain. They put her in stressful situations...she never says no because she’s too nice. Today called and said dropping off both kids FOR 6 days while they go on vacation to Florida for someone’s bday. I live in another state but am summoned to help take care of their kids with absolutely no notice. I say no & im the problem...

Might be a paranoid mom question - my 16 month old is starting daycare next week. So far, I’ve had virtual interviews/meet and greet sessions with the daycare staff. Today we went in for our in-person orientation and I noticed that my child is the only non-white kid in his class of 8. Not entirely shocking, but in my head (and having seen pictures in their catalog) I was hoping there would be a little more diversity. Should I be worried about my kid feeling left out because he looks different?

Hi moms. I’m looking for tips for transitioning my baby from slow flow nipple to medium flow nipple. She is 12 weeks old, a few days short of 3 month. We thought she was ready for medium flow nipples a week ago and started using them. But there were a good amount of spill (any amount of breast milk wasted makes me 😞; there were more milk in her mouth than she can swallow, and milk end up overflowing out of her mouth). And she threw up most of the milk after one night feeding.

I posed the question to my FB friends: “My dear parent friends with school-aged children, will you please share with me your thoughts on your child returning to school this fall? With all of the debate and varying opinions, as a teacher, I would love to know what my friends think. Please be honest with me; I would love to know how you feel. I will not judge or comment, and I ask the same of those who respond. Please feel free to PM me as well.” It was eye-opening, tear-jerking. Please consider!

I’m pregnant!? And I’m getting a job offer tomorrow. I need to know a million things like their insurance packages (I really want to keep my Kaiser insurance) and whether they offer paid leave before the one year FMLA mark. What else do I need to know? Advice needed-I’m 30 weeks pregnant and constantly getting dumped on at work (in industry now). I’m high risk (gestational diabetes & hypertension) and have been clear with my all male management team that I’m high risk. Still, they are steady trying to pull me into new projects while I’m actively leading one of the most high profile projects in the org. From a career standpoint, I appreciate it, but I cannot physically keep up the way I used to and feel like I’m risking my and my baby’s health.

How long would you wait before following up with a recruiter after a phone interview if you haven’t heard back? Everything in this process has gone so quickly until now and I don’t know whether I should reach out or not. I had a phone screen with the recruiter the day after she reached out to me and she set up my phone interview on the spot. The turnaround time has been less than 24 hours for everything but now it’s been radio silence and I’m starting to get anxious.
