I’m lateraling into mbb after a niche ops role in finance. My end goal is a tech business role. My reasoning for not going into tech directly:

1. Unclear where good entry points are into roles like bizops and product marketing.

2. Many of the “entry level” roles (including programs like google apmm) have a preference for consulting candidates

3. Too early to use bschool to switch

How different is tax consulting to regular tax jobs in PA? I’m an A2 that found a job opening with a Big 4 firm in a dream location, and it’s an advisory position for exactly the kind of taxes I do. Would I be over my head to transition to advisory from regular tax?
