Hello World !!
Anyone here work for b&bw as a store manager
What sales jobs make 500K to +1 million a year?
I'm a former Owner's Construction Project Manager that just received offers at Deloitte and Point B. Took the latter and start at end of month. I also had an offer at a construction SaaS startup. I applied to several construction/tech adjacent opportunities and interviewed at a few and decided not to continue with another. There is a way. Just have to frame your resume right and speak very well to overcome the recruiter/hiring manager concerns.
Program management for a change management and tech implementation seems to be the role for my first project.
I moved from a career in healthcare, its almost overwhelming at times because there is seriously so much to learn! I still have moments, but chances are if you had the courage to take the jump to begin with, you will be successful! Just, try not to get discouraged 😊
What position are you working now in tech?
It is definitely possible but needs work just like anything else.
Your first have to identify what jobs you want to get into in tech. You have s/w developer, s/w tester, Project Manager, Product Manager, Scrum Master and much more.
My suggestion is talk to people who are already in tech and get an idea about what tech jobs are there.
Then, see what skills in your current job could be used in other tech jobs. For example - You could be a great fit for Project/ Program management jobs.
Next, take basics of HTML & CSS from W3C schools. Just google it. As you need to have some technical knowledge and these things are really simple.
Do some technical certifications or courses from LinkedIn, Coursera, Udemy etc relevant to the tech job you are looking for.
After this you should be able to get into tech.
I helped my wife become a S/w tester from a pervious job of selling lawn mover parts.
So YES it is definitely possible and don’t lose hope.
Message me if you need help with how to transition into tech from construction.
Moving into tech could be a bit of a stretch without an MBA unless you move over to Autodesk or similar infrastructure tech companies. What sort of role are you thinking about in tech?
It might help you to think specifically about what you want to be doing first. Then you'll be able to chart out a clearer path of how to get there.
