Consulting. But be forewarned: travel for work isn’t the same as travel for fun. Consulting can be a grind after a bit, even for those who love it.

If I’m based in london, will Avios be the safest bet? Personally I don’t like BA services so might prefer Middle Eastern carriers, but not sure how good they are for intra-European flights (eg london-rome)

Hello Everyone !

I am currently a Military Admissions Officer & I want to pivot into something else. I’ve been looking into customer success specialist/manager, entry level Human Resources (I have my graduate certificate in HR), business analyst, system administrator (working on getting my ServiceNow system admin cert) or university relations.

I can send someone my resume for advice or if they know of any opportunities out there.

Sincerely,

Ready for change 😭

We hired an employee to be an assistant and she wasn’t performing or showing up half the time. My boss told me he had enough complaints about her work ethics and responsiveness and let’s move forward with looking for her replacement. I started interviewing people and a new HR person told us she would manage her & we were not to fire her. I am now getting comments from my hr lady that I am negative because I complained to a coworker I had to work overtime to keep filling in for her.

Needing some advice. I work at a Fortune 500 company and have been given multiple responsibilities over the years which change my yearly goals. I’ve done well with each goal and have improved many processes. I’m prior service and the only female on my team. I feel like I have Stockholm syndrome with this toxic job.

Help. How do I strengthen my relationship with my manager? During our weekly check in the other day, they said I micromanage them too much and I need to stop it. I was asking if I needed to do anything for a client since I was out the week prior and they pushed a few things forward for me. I honestly just wanted to know if I missed anything and I didn’t want to drop the ball. Now looking back I realized they’ve made other comments to me that make me uncomfortable.

Found out I am getting a promotion out of a re-org…. Yay! Is it appropriate to negotiate the offer when there was no posted position to “apply” to? My old school retired father advised no — just smile and say thank you (unless I’m ready to walk away). However, with the current economy and state of everything, is it really so offensive? Is there a way to say thank you *and* I need a bigger bump? Help!

I’m hiring & one of my candidates came in for her interview with a super low cut black silk dress with her cleavage popping out & a high slit.

It’s an entry level role, and I liked her otherwise. But, how do you teach someone what to wear in a professional setting? Can you without being flagged by HR?
