When my middle school son saw me today ( hair all frazzled and napping in the car) he says “What happened to you?!” Kindergarten happened, son, kindergarten 😜!
Definitely feeling the drain! I loved teaching virtually last year. The in person behavior issues & constant redirections are draining- I miss the mute button!! 😉
I can definitely understand the drainage factor, but for my specific student population, it is SO much easier and more productive to teach them in person. Really struggled wth regular student attendance and completion of work tasks last year.
Definitely struggling. I didn't anticipate that I'd like working from home so much. I am considering looking into jobs at online schools.
Rising Star
Working from home definitely has its bonuses.when I was home for some of the year last year, I got a lot done! Having my school schedule at home helped me to plan my time. I was able to repaint and redecorate my master bedroom, bathroom. I worked on it during my plan and lunch periods. The only downside was not seeing the kiddos in person. That was hard for me. I did enjoy sleeping in until 7:15 instead of getting up at 5 am!
Pro
I retired at the end of last year, and even though I’m not there, it would be draining after last year.
Virtual was exhausting and in person is now exhausting, but the toughest is the concern about safety and the thought that we constantly have to change without notice and without a plan.
I prefer traditional over digital!
