Negotiate a permalance position with them that's hourly and keep looking.
How much experience? $40-50k sounds about right for AE level. But I’d be concerned about an agency that doesn’t offer health benefits at all.
With 4 years experience, I’d expect an SAE role starting at $50k+.

If you’re below 47k you’re eligible for OT, so it may be advantageous to not make 55k
It looks like that article just talks about exemptions as it relates to IT. It doesn’t say IT is the only industry that can qualify for it.
If you're under the age of 30, catastrophic health insurance. It won't solve all your problems but if you'll have coverage for serious problems.
Chicago is a bit on the lower in terms of pay scale -9 actually, BUT if this is a promotion from where you are at now grab it quick. Work at that title for 1 year exactly, spin out after that and leap to 75k + full benefits.
If you are young, stay on your parents insurance or under 30, buy dirt cheap catestrophic insurance for $30 a month. Dental is like $20, vision like $12 and stay healthy with vitamin D3, ashwagandha and lion's mane for the year.
It's not an ideal gig but only take this if it's a promotion or you need the gig. Also they don't offer you squat to be loyal, so you can take the job and still interview, quietly.
And remember, it's still early in the year, contracts are just being signed, so more jobs will be coming soon. Hope that helps, the future still looks bright...
