I recently spoke to the HR of a company where he kept insisting on knowing my salary exepctations. I asked for a range for the role , he did not provide any information on that and said it depends on skill set and differs from person to person. To the point that he wanted to know the total comp off expected even when i said we can discuss on it once i learn more on the role. The number i quoted i feel is less than what i am willing to settle for. How should i reopen discussion on it?
How can you tell when you're being cocky vs when you really do deserve a promotion? I'm feeling like I can produce much better work than my AS (next level up) peers, but I'm never given the chance.
Thoughts on moving offices as a new senior from a big market to smaller? Are there significantly different implications on your career (experiences or compensation)? How is the process?
Hi guys I had my interview for full stack java senior consultant yesterday. I had one round completed. If anyone is aware of how many rounds will be there and by when should I expect them to call back for further rounds. Thanks in advance
Anyone else already dreaming about ski season? Debating whether it makes sense to buy a pass (usually get the Epic) or just to stick to daily tickets given uncertainty around travel even within US. Whistler seems like a distant dream- sigh! The insurance covers resort closures but would probably not cover travel challenges. What are others doing?

Best exit ops from Big4 IT M&A at director level? Is it possible to get a pay raise when exiting from strategy consulting (total comp) if you're already approaching the higher end of D-level pay band in consulting?
Big interview day tomorrow. Wish me luck!!!!!!
Does it make sense to recruit for positions 3 months before being promoted from associate to senior associate? Would you guys advice against this and think it’s better to wait until the senior promotion? Or just tackle it now and not wait? Needing some advice.
I’m senior 1 in IA and make 75k in Chicago. I just got certified for my CPA, how much can I get as a pay raise if I just joined the company a month ago?
My job title has been renamed so it’s still the same role. Would it affect the GC process?
Are there potential independence issues with applying for a position with an advisory client that I am actively working on an engagement with? It is for a different group at the client that the client’s resourcing office reached out to me about.
I am literally waiting for Green Card Interview - EB3 ROW ( I know it’s not current, hopefully will be by Oct). My 180 days has passed since my I-485 was filed, I-140 approved, got my combo EAD card. Can I change my job location (i.e. from Austin to Dallas/ Houston) with the same employer , same job title and not have any impact on my green card process due to change in location since I am in advanced stage of the process?
Is the hiring slowdown over? I contacted a few firms to inquire about lateral opportunities in late June/early July and was asked to check back in the fall due to hiring freezes. I wonder if I should reach back out or if it's too soon. The news about Skadden's staff layoffs this morning makes me think it's too soon.

Am I crazy or is anyone honestly passionate about what they do? Seems like i hear about passion alot but i think people are lying to themselves... I mean i work to get paid. If i had the choice to retire tomorrow or continue to work for 30 years and then retire like everyone else, id retire tomorrow. I mean why do people get stoked for the weekend or a vacation...cause their free lol thats like retirement...and then claim to be passionate. Idk i dont buy it...but hey guess u gotta play the game
