It’s really depends on what your long term goal are honestly. If you’re interested in HR functions outside of talent acquisition, go with the biotech. However, if you’re interested in growing in TA go the Tech Sourcer route. The field encompasses recruiting, sourcing, TA Ops so there are 3 directions contingent upon what you enjoy most. Sourcing as you know, is more strategic, TA Ops is more backend work (reporting, process improvement, etc) and recruiting will depend on the companies structure, size, etc.

Agree with the above - it depends on your goals and what sort of work you like to do. I am pretty risk averse so personally I look for job security.

I would go with biotech. I don't trust TikTok to be a good place to grow your career in that field.

Yeah I'm not sure how long it will last and how experience there will translate for future job opportunities..

Personally, I would go with biotech - it sounds more interesting in terms of the role itself, and the security goes a long way. I think TikTok is definitely exciting, but I don't think it's going to do much for you in the long run in terms of career path

Are you comfortable working as a contractor? There is more flexibility, but no benefits and taxes can get messy. I guess it depends on what you feel more comfortable with. Security or freedom/flexibility.

Yep agree. Right now everyone's hiring but if the economy takes another turn, you might wish you had that job security.

Have a feeling people here are judging tiktok as a company based on their image of the product. I say easy Tiktok, because this era it is considered big Tech and you'd get great experience and exit options from here, pretty much to any other tech company from there. They're hiring top notch talent so you'd be working with smart candidates. Plus if you become full-time later, these companies give solid stock options during their growth stage, huge financial upside if that's something you care about too

My brother is looking for a new job opportunity. He has a Master’s in Sports Management, and 3 years as the Director of Operations at a YMCA. Remote would be ideal, but is open to Philadelphia or Scranton area. Any help or leads are greatly appreciated!

With all my flights planned on United through the end of year, I'll be only one PQF away from requalifying for United Gold Status. Is it worth an extra $89 and a few hours of my time to reroute myself to BOS on my way to LGA, just so l get the extra PQF to reach Gold? If I don't, I'll be at Silver next year, but idk what material differences are b/t Gold and Silver besides upgrades at 24h instead of 48h. Worth it?

All things equal - would you take 150 base and 300-400+ OTE to work remote for a Series C tech firm out of NYC? Or 120 base and 275 OTE to work for a Series B out of Scottsdale? Good problem to have - I know. I am from the south and have never worked in NYC, wondering if I’ll regret it even if the $$$ is better.
