I received an email today from recruiter asking for a phone interview which I’m so happy to hear from but I applied about a month ago. I moved on and applied internally for a different role as a transfer. This new role is a promotion and my start date is next week. I immediately responded back to the recruiter and agreed to the phone interview for tomorrow 5/4…. Do I mention any of the above to them? Do I tell them I just accepted a new role and different position? Please advise
Dating an older man (he’s mid 40s, I’m mid 20s). We are pretty serious so we are having open conversations about money and whatnot. We just split the cost of a trip 50/50, which was a bit of a push for me but I did it anyways. When talking about future trips, I mentioned that I cannot always split the cost down the middle because I can’t afford as much as he can. I make 100k, he makes ~900k. He retorted that he has so many more expenses than me (which is true... mortgages, etc.) but that (cont.)
In SaaS Sales, do you believe it's beneficial to change niches or keeping them fairly the same as you change jobs? Example could be Selling something technical to engineers vs Selling to Marketing people in the next role... Would love to hear your experience.
What would you choose - a Contract role at $150/hr or Full time role at $160k+bonus&benefits?
Daycare mamas, how are you basing your decision to send your child back? We don’t have a vaccine or a good surveillance/testing/diagnostic process yet in the country. But with states opening up, daycares are too. Ours sent an email basically saying they can hold our spot for a month but if we don’t come back by June we might lose it. Not sure what to do.
Hello fishes ! About to be offered a position at Deloitte London as SC. Exp : ~9. Visa sponsorship is needed. I foresee a possible negotiation on compensation from Deloitte. Not sure of the estimate yet but I understand it would be 55-60k as per other fishes . Should I settle for a lower comp while employer pays one time sponsorship & migration costs or bear the migration costs self and chase a good salary . Which is better ? Note : moving to UK with spouse and kid
After submitting a job application, personally how long do you wait before not hearing any response that you take the intended job out of consideration and move on? (Not counting those random out of the blue jobs where recruiters hit you up 2-3 months later after you’ve applied.) I’ve been on the hiring end so I know how the processes work, so I give it a week max now as an applicant. I wanted to ask what everyone else’s personal timeline was?
Received a job offer ($118K), $17k less than the starting point of the range ($135k - $165K) for this position that the recruiter initially communicated to me. Tried to negotiate and they came back not budging on base but an increased bonus amount (extra 5%). I am interested in the position but can’t help but feel unhappy with their offer. How would you handle? Can I try negotiating again or is a 2nd time too much back and forth?
Looking for some honest opinions on a career in law: I have always wanted to be an attorney but I got married young and went the entrepreneur route as a software developer. However, now that I’m in my 30’s, I’ve started the last year of my undergrad and I’m strongly considering law school. For those of you in the field, what would you tell someone in my position? Would you recommend law school? Would you do it again? Would you discourage it?
Accepted an offer with a new company for a similar role I’m currently doing with over double the money. (YAY!) My immediate boss, was completely classless and belittled me for leaving. • “You can’t handle the role here? Good to know.” •” You are taking a step backwards in your career?” (I’m not) • “If you can’t handle running a large sales org, then this makes sense, I’ll make sure your replacement can.” (I can and do, and will at my next role, making double the money.) 🙄🙄🙄 stay classy
Anyone from Microsoft Netherlands can give me an idea on how much salary can I expect for a Customer Engineer role with 7 years of experience in Dynamcis 365 CE /Power Platform consulting?
Just made M at Accenture and will make $155k. I have an offer to join McKinsey as a BA for $90k. I do really like my team and projects at Accenture and was able to progress fairly accelerated to M at ACN (so maybe could keep it up for progression to SM?). But also I know how much people value the MBB brand. Thoughts?
Got my promotion today 6B to 7A YoE : 4 Company : IBM (No switch) Salary : 12 LPA Role : Backend Developer Is this justified ? What are market standards ?
Anyone know what recruiting/HR depts are like at HRT, Two Sigma, Jane Street, Point72, and other similar funds? Considering an offer & in final stages -- FAANG, start-ups and financial firms/hedge funds. I am fairly happy in my current role (at med-large FinTech company, prior experience from FAANG). But would move for a role that is challenging but provides time/opportunity for learning, innovation, more strategic practices, actual growth, etc. Comp is a factor**
We have openings at Amazon for graduates who are freshers and also for people upto 4 years of experience. Majority of them are non-tech roles. DM me if you are a graduate and I can help you further with the required details. Thanks and all the best.
I ended my job last month and have been taking my time finding a new full-time position that I’m excited about. It’s taking a while and interview timelines are always drawn out. How large of a resume gap is too large?

New to consulting. Any recommendations for getting elite status with airlines, rental and hotels?
When an older women beats you in the Starbucks line and then spends the next 10 minutes asking what flavor a of coffee and syrup they have... Some of us aren't retired and have to go to work!
When you land home after a long week at the client only to hear the captain say, "Uhh...ladies and gentlemen...uhhh...gates occupied...uhhh."

When on your flight home you're stuck with a small child, her mom and a baby in your row. Please fucking kill me. #notenoughalcohol

If there's one good thing about being local and working the week of Christmas it's that the traffic is especially light.
Thoughts on what I SHOULD a be making? (4 years Federal Strat/org change experience, no MBA, stellar performance reviews, senior consultant-level 2)... Have a feeling I'm getting shafted.
Curious: what's the average # of yrs already committed to consulting for folks on here-- upvote if someone states the number/range.
A/S/L? Hahaha 😘
When you get upgraded to first class, but can't enjoy it from all the work your SM gave you for the flight 😭
