What are the next steps in UBS post salary discussion with HR? How long usually they take to relase the offer?

Recently got an offer from Edward Jones and counter offered for 4K more per year and was basically laughed at. I was told that I would be making more than I’m making at my current company (because they asked for W2s from my current position which feels extremely invasive, unnecessary, and irrelevant). Has anyone had experience negotiating salary with Edward Jones and have you ever heard of a company asking for W2s?

Does anyone else’s company do “secondments”? I was asked to “look into” this? Someone who is a non attorney executive had a great idea they could save money and have outside counsel “at their disposal” 24/7 and on-site? Is that how this works? I know we spend a lot of $ on outside counsel but I don’t see how one of them having an office on-site adds much value? Maybe it’s a good thing. I am supposed to “report back.” Are they a joint employee? I was asked to advise “what this will look like.”
