My friend was Offered a Content Operations Coordinator role at Instagram for $30/hr or about 62,400/year. She’s making about that much right now as a retail analyst. Job set in NYC. 3 years professional experience. Is that a good rate? She was hoping for 40/hr. Is that too much to ask? Negotiation tips I can pass along?
Former EY performance improvement senior 1s, what were you able to get for an exit salary. I know many leave right after the promotion to senior, so I want to know what salary has looked like
Does anyone do extra work for your company that you are not being compensated for? I’m not talking going above and beyond. I joined our newly created ESG committee and instead of just a volunteering role to channel my passion, it has turned into steering ESG strategy. I enjoy it, but we’ve now had the committee for 1+ yr and there’s no sign that it becomes formalized into our “day job” roles or formal acknowledgment. I would be happy with a bottle of champagne at this point. Thoughts?
is it a good move to take an industry role (financial analyst) to gain some relevant experience and come back to B4 (transaction advisory) down the road?
Is it worth asking my Europe-based b-school classmate/s to refer me for a US role? How does it work?
Was a bit caught off guard this week when I received notice that I was not moving forward in the interview process for a position in-house after being asked to apply by the person hiring and subsequently told I would move forward to the next stage b/c they were very interested in me. Given the sudden 180 & the fact the position is still open, I assume there was a concern about me that came up but literally no idea what it could have been! Would love advice on if (& how should ask for feedback?
Ok fishes. I see a lot of recruiters posting about pivoting into HR. I’m in a situation about 90 degrees away from that. Working in a smaller company (150 EEs) and was thrown into HR from Office Manager. I’m looking to move on from the company but I have almost no recruiting experience! I’ve been on hiring committees for RFPs and done reference checks before but nothing else. Do I attempt to move into recruiting or just look for opportunities to build this skill set where I am?
Any fishes who have been tricked/lowballed when leaving a big 4 / mbb to a smaller firm, and they bring you in at a more junior role than you had before, what impact does it tend to have on your CV in the long run? Have you essentially lost the Ace you were holding by working for a big 4/mbb or is it recoverable?
What skills do I need to build to position myself to become the GC for a blockchain company, preferably in a role allowing me to provide substantial input on business decisions. I’ve seen some on LinkedIn act as outside advisors to VC firms (in addition to their GC roles) given the significant regulatory risk in the space, which sounds very interesting as well. Shooting for 700k+ TC after factoring in equity upside. Background: 2014 grad, V10 tech trans/Corp exp, AGC fin services, 350k TC
Joined a new role about 4 months ago from consulting and think I may not be a great fit because my role has evolved to be more technical than I expected. Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions on what to do?
I'm at a F500 company. We've had no success hiring IA senior or staff and have been looking for a month. Is that pretty typical? Not even getting to interview stage
Currently in industry, on the product side with previous consulting background. I don’t like the grind of consulting, but Salesforce CSG (prof services) reached out with a BA role. I’m also in the process of interviewing at FICO as well. I like that the FICO is on the internal product side, but Salesforce has a great reputation. Feeling like I don’t know what I want. For reference, I’m leaving my current place because of terrible leadership & back to office 5x a week/no flexibility. Any advice?
How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? I have 10+ YOE in product, but some was at a tiny meh startup that fizzled out, some was in the digital wing of a large old healthcare org, and though my current role is GPM at a “name brand” tech company, it’s on the smaller side. Went to a good-but-not-Ivy school. What qualifications and experience are FAANG companies looking for when hiring mid-level PMs? Can I break in at mid-level from here?
People on here are talking about billable hours and utilization... are those things that are tracked on an individual basis? We do it as a firm aggregate and thought that was the norm, but seems to be that it might be tied to specific people at other firms?
I have a friend who received a job offer with nestle as a financial analyst with 3.5 years prior experience - any advice on what salary range he should be asking for?
Recruiter at D states the offer is at the top of their range. Can I still negotiate a higher salary? Will they pull their offer? Will they match another offer if it is a 10 percent increase and not a competing firm?
Thoughts on Specialist roles at McKinsey’s Knowledge Center in Boston? How do these roles vary in benefits/comp/progression compared to the traditional consulting peers? Since the roles are not client facing, sounds like a border line “exit” from consulting to me 😂
Check it out. In 2015, somebody converts a church to a skateboard park. In 2018, Momentum does basically the same thing for Nike and wins big at Cannes. I call the idea for 2021. https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2015/12/skate-church-okuda-san-miguel/
Have an interview later this week for Deloitte's Finance & Enterprise Performance group. Would anyone be able to share insights on what to expect from the technical case? What level of preparation?
Recently had a final round with a LMM PE firm~$300M in AUM for an Associate role. Expecting to hear back next week and was wondering what to expect in terms of compensation package?
How long any one can stay on bench in EY GDS? What is the safe time to comeout from bench?
How much were you making at your first agency job? How much did your pay increase after a year? Trying to make a plan for paying off student loans

Let me know If anyone is interested or has questions about Secure On-Set Remote Video Streaming or the new On-Set Protocols that I experienced on the 3 commercials I’ve just finished in Los Angeles. I’ve been doing On-Set Remote Streaming for 3 years, and Video Playback (VTR) for 19 years mostly on Commercials in LA. The new norm is quite different. I'm limited to 500 words in these posts, but for anyone interested I can give you free demo of Live stream and answer any questions. -Brett Junod
So last couple of years have been very tough for me, ending a 6yr LTR, ex getting married overnight, dating horrors, losing 40lbs, intense family issues, covid, major housing crisis, etc etc. I realized I've given up hope and become insanely negative. Last night had a break down and decided I'm gonna reboot again. Just looking for tips to keep this motivation going.
Would it be insane to buy a 1 bd home if there’s a possibility of having a kid in the next ~3 years? Assuming we’d have to look for a 2 bd if we do have a kid and try to rent/sell the 1 bd
Does anyone have any insight on comp/culture at the Barry’s corporate office in either Miami or LA?
Just got a call from my PML, thought I was gonna be fired. Turns out I got promoted. 🤷🏽♂️ life’s funny sometimes.
I get flustered giving performance reviews to staff because in my heart I feel I’m baby and am just rambling adult nonsense 🙂
So are all big 4 giving mid-year adjustments?
We have it worse than our parents. No real pension( defined benefit plan) which pays you an amount per month til death. 401k are at risk of the market.. while ceos and partners....make millions
