Are you in person or virtual? I find communication virtually is more difficult and takes more effort to connect with other people. As far as feeling imposter syndrome just remember you were hired for a reason and not just the skills you currently have but also your potential in gaining new skills. It’s okay to be doing work you don’t have formal training. Learning from YT, Google and forums is okay if you can do the work. If at the end of the day your peers and JL think your doing a good job then your doing great.
As far as some tricks I use to meeting new people and communication I try to keep it as informal as possible. Treat it like a regular conversation, if that makes sense. Good questions to ask are like what projects people work on, are they technical or not or how long they been at the firm? Some of these questions lead to other convos. Hopefully this helps, usually you will get better with practice but
