Thinking about a move to Charlotte but my husband wants to spend some time there first. Anyone know of a rental for a month or so this winter? (Or want to home swap to spend some time in Colorado this winter)
I’m thinking about leaving my government job for a matrimonial law firm. I had a baby in January & my husband’s job was hit particularly hard by the pandemic (100% commission based & I was already earning more than him). I am enticed by the compensation & have been unhappy with certain aspects of my govt job lately. But I’m also nervous about billables & firm life (I was a matrimonial lawyer 5+ years ago). Mostly I want to provide for my baby girl & not be stressed financially. Advice? Thoughts?
Our client is looking for an HR Generalist to work 3-4 days per week from the office in Stamford, CT. Fairly junior role with a fixed compensation not to exceed $90k. Minimum 3 years of experience required

What is an appropriate salary for an entry-level reporter for a digital newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch in New York City? I’m getting the idea that it would be $55-$65K and would like to know how to be at the top end of that salary.
How do you keep your spirits up after multiple rejections in interviews? Over the last year I have gotten to ELEVEN final interviews with big firms but I can’t seem to close the deal! In the interview and after they ALL seem to like me but the offer never comes. My tank is running low and I no longer have any energy to apply or pursue opportunities. How do you do this? Are these Mansfield interviews only? Am discouraged....

So I’ve been an admin assistant for over a year now and have since been more and more interested in becoming a nurse. My grades in university so far have been… subpar but I want to transfer into a nursing program of some sort. Any suggestions?

Any Recommendations on high yield savings account? I am usually hesitant if it’s not a big brand. Probably irrational but I am new to this so appreciate your perspective. Thank you
Best credit card for points? For auto-payment, lots of retail shopping, groceries, gas, etc
Anyone used/using HMBradley before for HYSA? They have a 3% rate which seems unreal in this economy. Just want to make sure it’s legit. It’s seems HMBradley is the marketer for Hatch Bank (FDIC insured). Any other recommendations for HYSA?
If you are hovering between the 24 or 32% tax bracket (work in commissions) and are planned to get a 60k bonus…would you take lump sum in December 2022 ? Or space it out with some in 2022 and the rest in 2023?
I have 401(k)s from previous employer, which I left as 401(k) instead of converting to an IRA so that I could backdoor Roth without complications.
Should I consolidate my previous 401(k)s into the same administrator if I like their investment options, or is there a benefit to having separate accounts for flexibility if I never need to withdraw “substantially equal periodic payments”?
I have about $70K total in undergrad/law debt. I accepted a job in big law starting in fall of 2022. I’d like to be debt free as soon as possible but given that student loan interest is frozen and has the potential to continue to be for the foreseeable future, any recommendations on where I put my money in the mean time? I’m thinking I’ll make the minimum payments upon graduation and let my money grow elsewhere until loan interest starts up again then make lump sum payments. Thoughts?
What type of account do you put your emergency savings in? Savings account rates are so bad, so I’m not sure if a brokerage account would be best (or if that’s too risky)
What do you think about bonds
Leaving KPMG soon but never had my own IRA. Where should I move my IRA account to? Fidelity? vanguard? Something else?
I have an after-tax 401k cap of 10k (enforced by ACN fund administrator, Roth401k is maxed). Any risk to backdoor this into my RothIRA that I made before I hit the RothIRA contrib earning cap (137k)?
Can you critique my portfolio please?
I currently have: FNDX, SCHB, VTI,SPY, SCHF, VXUS, SCHG, SCHP, BNDX, BND SWSSX, SNXFX, SWPPX and SWLGX.
I don’t really know what I’m doing so all advice is appreciated.
I have a rollover Roth IRA that converted from my 401k with previous employer. I also have Roth IRA.
1. Does it mean i am only able to contribute 6k with these two Roth OR i can contribute 6k each Roth ?
2. Can i open a backdoor Roth as well beside two Roth listed above ? Thank you!!
With the market pushing higher to mostly ath this week, are you keeping cash reserves for a slight pull back or putting money in the market today?
How much savings does a 40 year old realistically need to retire?
For sake of discussion, let’s assume house is paid off, need to purchase decent healthcare, you have a healthy 401k, and are single with no kids.
I’ll guess that you need at least $500,000?
For those that do the back door Roth IRA, did you have a big tax bill due? We think our accountants messed up the calculation but are saying we owe a lot because of the contribution. We contributed post tax dollars. Fair warning I know little about this..
I’m new and super behind on all of this stuff but trying to learn. I’d like to invest in an index fund and have heard there are some that, while they require an initial investment of a couple thousand, only require a $50 per month deposit thereafter. Anyone know which brokerage accounts allow for this? Any other recommendations/tips/things to consider? TIA!
Could be a different bowl I should post this in but does anyone have recs on ways to monitor your monthly spending? I have mint and personal capital but I kind of want to still use excel. I might go the route of pulling all transactions from mint and exporting into excel but wasn’t sure if anyone had a better way or can point me to resources that’d help me with this
Hey y’all! I’m 23 and looking for a FIRE mentor. Comment below as I would love to connect with someone that can assist me in my journey.
Have a friend that just signed up for a 529 plan in Utah (we live in Texas) - is that really the best one or are there better plans out there offered by other states? Texas is no state tax so I don’t really care about the tax breaks unless it’s a federal one which I don’t think exists...
Anybody had experience helping spouse or close friend get over the mental block of investing, due to their growing up poor/having to support their parents and thus being unnecessarily conservative with money? Caveat that they work in finance/investment so they understand fully that historically stock markets have done ~10% return on an annualized basis. But their excuse is since they work in investment, they’ve seen too many trades/funds blowing up etc.
