Hi! Yes, it’s normal to add peeps you’ve met on linkedin. We all do it. Building your network is a big part of consulting life. After you respond to A1 and SD1’s questions we can give you some more targeted tips/advice. Without knowing too many details though i would say: It will be hard to ramp up on everything you listed that’s new to you. Just figure out where you can get help/knowledge quickly in those areas once you find out your next gig. If you’re a generalist then i would say be familiar with cloud terminology and agile/scrum delivery if you don’t know it already. Don’t stress about coming from a small firm. It sounds intimidating, but you’ll quickly realize that not everyone is as good as you would expect. A lot of politics internal/external at bigger firms. Don’t share your feelings too quickly with just anyone. A lot of senior level politics are related to sales credit. Just sorta pay attention to the peeps you’re surrounded by. Don’t be afraid to stand up for your project and people. I know this is basic, but it’s a new firm with probably some very strong personalities. If it’s not scoped properly please say something. Also, be sure to understand your metrics/evaluation criteria. Lastly, have fun. And don’t let them burn you out. Work is just so you can pay for stuff you enjoy in life :)

Thank you very much, it's solid and applicable advice and you cleared my mind a lot! ☺

Are you delivering any specific technology or just general PM?
