Any tips for staffs who struggle to pass the CPA exams? A staff has tried four years but can’t pass Audit and FAR. Another staff has outstanding performance but just can’t pass any section.

Take exams during typical busy season. Your passing score depends on the group you take it with. So that being said. If you take it at a time when less people are taking the exam you will increase your chance of passing. Never take an exam you are not confident in during May, June or July. That is when all the fresh aspiring college students with their no job having awesome study skills are taking it. You can’t compete with that. Best time to pass exams is right before March 15, April 15, September 15, August, or October 15

Sit on your butt and study. Don’t try to be lucky. You need to put in real work.

Also, if you get the day before off to review, schedule exams on Tuesday for a long weekend to study

Take vacation time or schedule it during a holiday break. Focus on that. I was able to pass BEC and AUD by taking four PTO days start to finish, it’s def possible

I ended up using a week of PTO for each test, as others suggested, but need to treat it like you still have work, get up and really study 100% focus.

Study harder.

Give them a week of excused absence for them to focus on studying exclusively for 8 hours a day. While I was in school I studied for REG for probably ~40 hours and got an 84. Granted you probably can’t do FAR in 40 hours unless you had awesome classes/professors in school but AUD is doable in 40 hours

Encourage them to carve out an hour or two for them to do multiple choice and SIMs. Repetition every day will get it done.
