Any tips for waking up early to study? How do you get over the first hump? My plan is to wake up at 4:30 study for an hour or so. Walk my dogs for an hour. Then get ready and be at work by 7:30/8.

Love the plan! I’ve seen people work at dog parks while their pups are running around. However that does call for unaware humans who may not be attentive enough when dogs start fighting

Mine does the same too. She’ll jump on people or run out the first gate. Hmm my solution works for me but not sure if it’ll work for you. I’ll also work on questions in bunches of 10 on the couch. In between each, Ill play tug or fetch w her. While I’m doing the questions she’ll play with the squeaky tennis ball or chew on the tug. You’ll find out what works best for you guys!

Then work and come home study for an hour or two the. Walk my dogs for another hour. Does anyone else have another schedule that would work better. The difficult part is my dogs being too hyperactive for me to study at home after being cooped up all day....

I quit drinking at the first of the year because I was drinking too much as a way to cope with Covid. 99.9% of the time, I’m glad I quit drinking. And then there are those nights when I just want a glass of something to take the edge off, which makes me think alcohol was more of a coping mechanism than I thought and it’s probably a good thing I’m not drinking. I don’t even like wine very much, but I miss that low level buzz that makes everything a little less loud.

I don’t think that most people they find in the lake went in it willingly. Water makes it too easy to cover up murders. Washes away evidence. But it’s dismissed because most people they found had also been drinking. But people just disappearing miles away from the Lake don’t just fall in it. Yes, suicide happens. But many of these cases show zero signs of anything like that. The constant MO is being out with friends having fun. The friend vanishes. Then is found in the lake weeks later.

I have the opportunity to take a month off between jobs. I’ve worked a demanding job for the last 3 years that has caused me to neglect my physical & mental health. It’s hard to admit, but I’ve developed an unhealthy relationship with several substances and my anxiety has gotten out of control. What are some steps I can take during my time off to begin to heal, ground myself, and develop healthy habits to put my best foot forward in my new role?

Apologies if this has been asked before but does anyone have tips for getting out of bed on weekday mornings? I set my alarm early but find myself intentionally sleeping in until 9am or later just because I dread the work day. I get away with it since I usually don’t have morning meetings but I think it’s depression/anxiety related since it doesn’t happen on weekends? (I go to bed quite early so I’m averaging around 11-12 hours of sleep a day)

Hi, does anybody have any insights into what the excel assessment would be during the interview stage at one of the big 4 (EY). It’s the 2nd stage of the process for a commercial role. Any ideas would be a big help as I’ve never really had an assessment for a commercial/financial role.

Also would you think a suit is still the best idea for an interview or chinos nowadays?

Thanks

I’m very frustrated because I’ve been interviewing with companies for 6-8 months to only be rejected at the final round consistently.

I have lots of relevant experience and I articulate it well but they don’t think it’s a “fit” for them. Finance firms are the only ones that interview me, can’t break into other industries. I feel trapped in my current role and everything is taking a huge toll on my mental health.

I could invest in some leveraged ETFs (UPRO, TQQQ, UDOW, UMDD, etc) and get potentially high returns. Anything I would put in there would be like crypto, just investing what I can afford to lose.

While filling the PwC Bgv form(by first advantage) they have asked for my Kpmg’s hr details. I am worried whether the hr (if contacted) may mention about my reason as family business, in that case, will my bgv fail with PwC?
