Thank you everyone! I was able to get the title bump and a raise today 🎉

Ask yourself: • If I have been there at least a year • If I am consistently and satisfactorily performing the duties of the title above me. • If I am still being challenged in this role If you can answer yes, yes, and no then make them examples with provided proof. Don’t demand a promotion. Sell them on why you deserve it. If they say no weigh the reasons. If they are reasonable set them as goals and document when you hit them. Try again once you hit them all. It also helps if you have an offer in your pocket should things not go as planned for reasons you feel are unreasonable.

This is a tough one because you’re a junior. When you’re younger you can be pegged as an ungrateful millennial or whatever you are. How long have you been there? What have you produced? Have your elevator speech ready - almost the bullet points that make you a great asset for the company. Your ECD / CD knows you’re working hard if you are. As much as we try to say the ad game is a negative business people to respect you if you can throw down. They don’t wanna lose you. They will talk you up to others if you are working hard and don’t have a nasty attitude. I know I talked up my cw and ad team to my Ecd. If you feel you truly deserve one talk to your ACD or CD. Good luck!

There are people at your level coming and going at many agencies. Most likely you will be abused as a sort of agency ad life hazing unfortunately. A lot of senior people will think you need to go through the grinder before giving you a good bump. My advice while your young is to stay at a place a year or two and get everything you can out of it than hop to another place. It’s the only way you will get great compensation financially. Alternatively look at your experiences and exposure as pay. The more you learn and can do the more you can make in a leap. Your gonna have to move around a lot in your early career. Especially if you don’t have kids and a house

I kinda like the CorpDev gig more and have very little motivation to join EY (that particular team). Can I still use their offer to pump up my current base here at the non-F500? How can I ask for a raise and not set wrong impression so early on?

I recently moved out of my apartment complex 2 weeks ago and ended my lease early because I had to move for work. The leasing office calls me today and said they “forgot” to bill me for a $1200 rent concession I received when I first moved in (First Month free rent promotion). After looking the lease, I found the clause but I really don’t want to pay especially when they made the mistake on not billing me and are just now following up 2 weeks later. Advice? Ideas? Similar situations?

Hi everyone! I am promoting my NFT collection with an Instagram page, but I have some doubts regarding IG algorithm. As far as I know, replying to comments etc increases visibility, as it looks like it has more interaction. However, I have many bots that automatically comments immediately every post telling me to DM them for promotion. How should I treat them? Should I reply something, or ignore them or block them? Not sure how IG algorithm would evaluate interacting with bots

Any tips on how to ask for a big raise that takes my title change into account? Went from assistant to director in 1 year and was not compensated for the title change. I did get an assistant however and the promotion approved (I had to ask for it). I’ve now been in the director role for 1 year and feel it is fair to ask. I’m making only 5% more than when I started as a marketing assistant.

For those who were at mid-tier firms and have left PA/are interviewing, did you feel that your exit opportunities were limited due being at a mid-tier? I’m genuinely curious as I’ll be joining a mid-tier and I am coming from a regional firm. Hoping to pay my dues for another 2-3 years to get senior promotion and get my CPA (halfway done) then exit PA. Don’t really want to hop into B4 but everyone always talks about the B4 prestige being a huge resume booster.

Ever since the pay-scale and bonus increases, has your firm pressured you to bill more? On at least 3 separate occasions, firm leadership has mentioned billing 2400-2600 and even said billing 2000 is not hard to do (even though we’re still in a pandemic). I can bill over 2k, but I find it strange that this is their messaging almost as if they can’t afford to keep up.
