You must use your network to participate in real time and receive feedback. Networking requires face-to-face interaction in order to get real-time engagement and feedback, as this is very important for building relationships and growth. Instead of relying on industry events to catch up with your contacts, you can cut out the middle man by organizing informal meetings for your professional network. It helps you meet your contacts in a less formal setting, which will allow you to strengthen the relationship.
You must remember that quality is better than quantity, a large number of contacts will not always be beneficial to both parties. You must be able to distinguish which contacts are worthwhile, so that you don't end up overcommitting yourself or fall into the trap of working with a contact who is not interested in helping you.
Remember to give and not just take. It is better to start the relationship by offering support to the person, perhaps by collaborating with a project or something your contact needs help with.
Start by identifying which executives you want to network with. Once you've identified some potential contacts, reach out to them and introduce yourself, explain why you want to network with them and what you hope to gain from the relationship, and try to schedule a meeting or coffee chat as soon as possible
