Hello, everyone! I am new to fishbowl, the Healthcare field, and fairly new to my company. One of my primary goals, besides finding the highest quality talent to join our team, is to expand my network. If anyone here is willing to send me a LinkedIn connect request I would be very appreciative! It will be a mutual benefit, I assure you. (I am at my weekly limit for sending connect requests)

1. Network hard and have a good story. IB and VC are worlds apart so maybe first think about why you want to go into these industries. If you’re interested in VC, get up to speed on the rest of the fintech space in addition to insuretech. Reach out to learn about roles in these industries if you don’t have a strong handle yet.
2. Get your financial fundamentals solid. More important for IB probably but also good tool belt for VC. Lots of resources online - M&I, WO, BIWS
3. Start reading the news and follow deals. Again better if you cater to IB or VC (different company coverage for the two). Understand deal dynamics, rationale, motivation, valuation etc
4. Make a plan for reaching out and map out companies you want to potentially work at. It’s a numbers game to a degree.
