Good question. I’m thinking the answer has to include tapping into a good network (like a reputable and recognized international Chamber of Commerce.

Focus on a particular industry. I made a mistake early on of trying to market the function of what I was doing (international trade law). Once I stopped marketing that function, and instead started marketing myself as a lawyer doing work for a particular industry, a lot more work started coming in the door.

Remote Onboarding question: I joined my company a little over two months ago, and I’m in a remote role. This is my first time onboarding remotely as I started at my last company pre-pandemic. Honestly, I’ve found it lonely so far. I’ve been trying to be outgoing and meet with everyone I can, but it so far feels like I have not been included as a full member of the team. Any advice on how to approach relationship-building? Any secrets to unlocking remote onboarding?

Just received an offer for a TPM role - Fully remote TC - $125k base w/10% annual bonus (no stock options, no sign on bonus). My current - remote, could switch to hybrid, TC - $110 base w/10% annual bonus, $20k stock options vested over 4 years and a $5k sign on bonus I have to pay back if I leave before May 2023.

New company won’t budge on a sign on bonus. Does it still make sense to accept the offer?

I am considering making a proposition to the partners at my firm to take over our satellite office and make it my own whereby I would be associated but not employed by the firm.
