Usually they need to feel the genuine passion for the brand. It’s like getting into a cult.
I love it. Being closer to the business, knowing all the secrets, getting equity, having an impact on the brand and knowing the numbers behind everything. Feel so aligned with everyone who all want the same thing.
Never been happier after a decade and a half agency side. I LOVED the people agency side, but it was just the unrealistic expectations, no work life balance, and the misalignment of departments that drove me nuts in the end. Not to mention ageism and the 40-45-yo expiry date.
The grass is only green at places with sound leadership tho. Check out the CEO/founders and see if you like their vibe - that will define the culture.
Thank you for the ideas! I love the perspective and great point on side hustle, am working on figuring how to do more speaking in those subject areas especially around fintech. I miss the business strategy and sales numbers and diving into challenge.
How did you make the transition personally? An was MBA necessary? Also looking at getting an MBA.
I think it can be significantly better, but there are cons. Seems like it could get boring.
