Make it look good, even in interim drafts. People will often overlook or miss nits if something looks good - just gives you some more leeway to catch your own errors

Try Figma or OneDesign

I’ve used Figma as a sort of graphic design for dummies. It’s an easy way for me as someone without official skills/training to edit content within visual frameworks.

smart

Less words, more pictures and graphs. PPT is fine

Ensure that you have multiple checks & balances in place to make sure your data is correct. This would include checks & balances with IT/business intelligence to ensure any and all data coming out of the data warehouse is 100% accurate. It is bad enough presenting inaccurate data to your audience (especially if you are ignorant towards the inaccuracy), as your audience could very well make decisions that would potentially affect the bottom line. With that said, there is nothing worse than a department head or other leaders catching a mistake in the middle of a financial review or presentation. When something like that happens, your veracity of your analysis will come into question, in-turn prompting more questions. (If this value is incorrect, then what about this over here? What about the rest of this data? Where did you get this data from?) TLDR: Put in checks and balances to make sure your data is correct.

Spell check, save often and expect revisions no matter how good it looks. With that said, save every version. Can’t tell you how many times I ended up pulling slides from v2 or v3 after 15 other versions.

And to others point about checking everything, cannot agree more. If I find one mistake on your deck, I’m not even finishing going through it; take it back, pls fix and god help you if I find another after that.

Any healthcare consulting firms out there are going fully remote after the pandemic?

Humble question: How do you know you're good enough? I'm a high performer at a local boutique firm in South Africa, looking to apply internationally at MBB/Big 4/Tier 2 (recruitment esp. international is a separate discussion). Since I've only ever been with one firm, I don't have a yardstick to compare myself to. I'm concerned about whether I match up with my peers at other firms. Any advice, experience or 2c on the above is appreciated.

With the new H1b requirement to provide detailed itineraries for third party worksites, do you think the Big 4 firms will be affected? Shorter visa durations etc. our projects are never over a year!

Mamas how are y’all surviving going back to work after leave. I feel like I’m sinking over here. I’ve been back for a month and was put on a project with ridiculous hours. I’m literally on meetings while picking baby up from daycare, during feeding time, and after putting baby down to sleep. I have help, but my husband is working long hours as well and he actually commutes to the office everyday.
