I did it too. Couldn’t stand the FT place I was at. The first 3 weeeks were scary and it was dry as hell...and then it rained and poured. 3 gigs immediately fell my way and all of them long term.

Totally understand. I quit my job during the pandemic and have been freelancing ever since, at least until I find another job. I saved up a bunch before leaving in case there wasn’t anything coming in. I also reached out to clients I’d worked with at my old job thanking them and letting them know how they could reach me. I also tapped my network letting them know I was taking freelance work.
I also had concerns about quitting now and even felt guilty for considering it, but I’m glad I made that decision. My mental health is doing so much better and I love doing work again.
Reach out to your entire network and let them know, then just stay on everyone's radar.
Network like crazy. Reach out to everyone. It’s a tough time to do it though, not like you can just grab a drink with people and bullshit.
