Any tips on moving from the private sector into the US Attorney’s office? For reference I’m a second year associate in an insurance coverage group, with about 45% of my practice in federal court. Is it too early to think about making the jump?

Perhaps, but worth a shot. Former DOJer here. Have you made any connections with AUSA’s in the office that you want to work in. That’s your best course of action. We used to get hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of applications through USAJOBS for every opening. If someone know your name and can mention to the hiring attorney that your resume should be give a second look (assuming of course that you meet the minimum requirements for the particular opening) that can make all the difference. Otherwise VERY easy to get lost In the shuffle. Good luck!

I recently graduated with a bachelors in finance, and have recently got hired (5 months ago) as a financial analyst. Realistically I do FP&A for a company. I have realized I am not a huge fan of doing non stop spreadsheet all day. Am thinking I’d enjoy my career more by becoming a financial planner and getting my CFP certification. Maybe in the future opening up my own firm. Any advice on what career move to make next in order to accomplish this? CFP requires 3 years of relative experience.

I am so conflicted and not sure what to do. A company I wanted to work for was not ready for hire when I first reached out in Sept. Since then I have accepted a job at a outpatient oncology clinic, starting in Jan at a renowned hosp. The company is a vessel for new ideas in healthcare helping their community specifically with seed funding, & launching their own programs. I have no idea what to do

Tell me your craziest experience working with a TV network. Here comes mine:

I'm American, but my family is mostly Colombian. I was told my aunt and cousins would come here for 2 weeks. I discovered they were going to be paid to appear in a famous Hispanic TV show, where a "judge" receives a case, hears the plaintiffs and defendants and renders a verdict. But of course, it's all fake and payed 😂 turns out she wanted me to go there (even though I don't work for that TV network) so she's sure she'll be paid at the end of the show. Wth did I just do.
