Haha, you've given us no info. Are you negotiating for a diff location or a better relocation bonus or remote work or something else? How much leverage do you have (other offers or willingness to stay in current role)? What is the offer vs what and where you are at now?

The position is fully telework rn, but expected to be in office 3 days per week starting July 2022. There is no relocation offered, but they said they could be flexible. I'll be relocating (new position, new company) TX to DC.

Is it worth being a SWE at a non-FAANG but tech company, such as SurveyMonkey or Twilio? Do they get paid those crazy $300k+ salaries or is that only in real FAANGs? I used to be a SWE, never broke into FAANG, and ended up getting into cyber security. I make $160k base now (4YE) and I’m wondering if im missing out

Prospective tenant has an ITIN but no social security number or driver's license. Is that sketchy? They've been in the country for 20+ years and have enough income.

Out of curiosity, is anyone else a single parent on here? I have 50/50 custody, but with all the school activities, on my nights alone I am making up time and working. Leaves little time for personal me time, let alone dating. At this point in my career, it’s not easy to just “coast” and a nanny is not an option. Anyone else in the same boat? Haven’t seen as many single parent executive women around.

Additional Posts in Tech

I'm a solid software engineer; I get the job done, I'm reliable, I work hard, i can accomplish almost any technical task with enough time, I'm supposed to be smart; I went to MIT.

But I am in awe of those 10x programmer types, because -- as the name would imply-- they finish everything 10x faster than me. I don't understand how they do it, and I am super envious. I want to be like these guys. But how? Is it even learnable or is it all just God-given talent? How can I become like them?

Hey everyone, I’m new to this just wanted to ask y’all how to get into FAANG? I have been working on software industry over 4 + years with medium scale companies but wanted to try my luck with FAANG. If somebody guide me with references or any other similar posts that would be highly appreciated.

Salary question time please:
- S&O role
- Lead level (owning the sub-vertical)
- at one of the large tech firms (non-FAANG)
- location: NYC

11YoE - how much base and TC would you expect? Thank you

How difficult is a Square interview. i have heard it is different from other companies. Do they ask leetcode and do they ask system design. where would interview difficulty rank among Faang. Same difficulty as amazon or higher?

If you're a FAANG employee, have you ever seen your CEO in person and what was it like?

Anyone here from Perth ?

Anyone have advice on python(boto3) for aws courses/self-trainings I can take? Thanks so much in advance.

Does anyone else get endless spam from recruiters? It's often not even for jobs I'm qualified for.

Like most tech companies, about a year ago my company started hiring remote employees. we all worked remotely for 24 months.

Now that we are reopening our offices, no one seems to be coming into the office yet. I really do not want to work remotely anymore, and I’m seriously considering changing jobs just to go back to a workplace where people are in person.

Is anybody else in this position? I feel like I am losing my mind working from home for two years with no end in sight.

Trying my luck, anybody willing to refer me over to Microsoft I see a role I think I am highly qualified for, 3 years of experience at Google.

So, a recruiter from Microsoft reached out to chat about a role. I gave her the times I’m available, but I haven’t heard anything back since then. It’s been a week. Is this normal? Microsoft

Assuming things reopen soon, do I need to have a business card? I haven't ever had one in the past.

Shoutout to the strong, powerful, unafraid women in tech. I’m a guy (30M), but I’ve got a few rockstar women on my team that I absolutely love working with and who inspire me to be courageous and unapologetic. We’re far from where we need to be in the male/female ratio, but we’re slowly getting there!

Im a DS and about to apply for Deloitte Consulting - AI&D team. Is this a great place for me to continue sharping my skills in DS/MLE/MLOps and develop soft skills? How do the projects look like at Deloitte? Thank you!

#SAP senior tech consultant vs #Snowflake SQL cloud support engineer?

Base/bonus are about the same. SAP has RSUs but not with the offer. Snowflake has RSU as part of the offer (not sure how much yet though). Both within a growing team with great potential, visibility, and impact.

SAP would be more sales support & client interactions more mplementation & sales engineering.
Snowflake would he dealing with tickets. Quarterly reviews with "quotas" and metrics. Weekend/holiday rotation as well.

What popular tech product do you wish would just roll over and die? For me, it's smart watches. If you need something to remind you to drink, move, and breathe, you're not a functional human being. CMV.

I was hired 3 weeks ago at State Farm as a UX/UI designer for their mobile app. Only to be terminated suddenly, the reason given was ‘isn’t producing enough work’. I was assigned my first project the same day I was terminated. Now nobody will return my calls. I’ve never had this happen before. Has anyone else?

I may move from a level 65 at Microsoft to a level 7 at AWS… is the level si important at AWS versus at Microsoft? I need also to understand the RSU process, on year+2 you have a conversation with the management to get new RSU, is the minimum amount granted equivalent to the number a RSUs granteed when joining AWS? Thanks for your help.
