I started a new company in August as a recruiter. After a month I was moved into a Talent Acquisition Manager position. I recently interviewed for a position that was below my salary requirements so the interviewer forwarded me a role that is inline with salary but quite a bit outside of my skill set (and interest, tbh). How do I politely reject the opportunity while keeping the door open to other roles more closely aligned with my career goals/interests?

I’m interviewing for a an EA role to CEO, who is also interviewing for a chief of staff. CEO has alluded to me being a great CoS based on recent exp, and longer term COO and has asked if I’m going to find the EA role limiting. Do I address my interest in the CoS role, plus gaps in my experience or do I focus on the EA role and finding opps to add value outside of EA responsibilities without stepping on the CoS toes? I got a job offer for what seems to be a great company but I’m not sure if I would have the same life balance. I started interviewing as a way to see my worth in the industry. My current role is at a small company, and I’m not sure how I could grow within the role because Im not advancing my skill, I just do the same thing every day at a lower level. I like my current role because it’s flexible and I’m paid well for not doing very much work. Should I switch to a more rigorous job?

5 rounds of interviews and final interview case study and I get the dreaded thanks, but no thanks email and feedback that I did have the desired experience for the role. Why take up 6 weeks of my and their teams time? I am amazed by the amount of “waste” and “cost” an agile / lean company would burn through on a candidate they see as unsatisfactory. I Meh!
