Instead of reprogramming yourself to take the heat from the je@&s at the top, do yourself a favor and find a job where you are given the respect that you actually deserve. And before you go, be the whistleblower that exposes the behavior of the je@ks.
There are miserable people at every company, grade, and salary. That’s the first thing I remind myself. Secondly, I respond by staring at them blankly, responding very casually or light-hearted (if at all) and generally ignoring their drama as best I can. Eventually, when folks realize you don’t flinch or play into it, they move on - like cats. It takes practice, but you’ll get there. Also, the more money you save the less you GAF.
Agreed - first the stupid person will drag you to his level and then beat you due to his experience in stupidity.. don’t get drag down to their level - just ignore
This is not normal and an indicator of a toxic work environment. Leave now!
Leave. Toxic work environments aren't worth your mental health. If you decide to stay, have FU confidence from circumstances. I started saving a large next egg and so knew I could quit and not work for 2 years from a monetary aspect. I also always tried to keep at least a low burn in the market with applications to increase the chance of getting another job sooner. Once you have another offer lined up that you can tolerate and your attitude at work will change. Workplace bullies get off on harassing others. They sense fear they like the power trip. When you have a sly smile thinking I can walk out on these pricks and let their project fail. They sense that. Usually that is when the dynamic changes because they realize at that point they need you more than you need them.

They shouldn't be doing that to you
While I agree to a point with the other contributors to this thread, I believe that what is needed here is personal development. Quitting your job and going to another job is not the answer. Poor managers are everywhere in every company. Your perception of what they are doing to you or how they are speaking to you is what actually matters. What they are doing is triggering you. The work is around managing or eliminating your triggers. I am suspecting that there is a bit of lack of self-confidence going on here. Perhaps a bit of self development at this stage of your career is a good idea. How are you showing up that gives your manager the impression that it is ok to talk down to you? Good Luck!
