Use the rejection as a booster toward greatness. Remember the founder of KFC was rejected 1000 times before a restauranteur accepted his recipe. Let those hiring mistakes put you one step closer to a successful hiring. As to imposter syndrome assuming someone is taking credit.for.yiir work. In that case take the first opportunity whether your clients or colleagues and call it out by speaking out cleverly..."i want to thank Bob for putting my research (or whatever it is you did) in front of you to address the importance of this issue."

With rejection, realize it wasn’t meant to be for a reason, and you’ll end up somewhere better eventually. I look back at so many OCI interviews I had that was so upset with myself over when I didn’t get the job, but thank goodness as I would’ve hated the majority of those jobs and wouldn’t have been in a position to find my current role

Therapy. I'm serious. Helped me a lot.

In the same situation, long-term unemployed too. I need to find a therapist that takes Medicaid because I think that’s the only thing I can do for myself right now.

Head down and keep on the grind. Life is gonna hit you hard, but you gotta be able to keep moving forward. You got to where you are because you earned it. Don’t let doubt take that away from you.

Everything you doubt yourself send out another resume or 2 and then grab a glass of your favorite alcohol. Got to keep moving forward or you'll get stuck in a negative feedback loop.

Compete with yourself not others.

Not sure what you mean by job rejection but as to imposter syndrome, accept it and keep working. Eventually you’ll actually deserve the confidence your clients place in you.

Started interviewing client side in JULY and they want me to do one last panel interview. But now it’s so close EOY and getting my 401k match pay out that I’m rethinking it given timing, esp since I would be taking a pay cut to work there. What’s the most you think you can push off a start date to a new job offer?

4th year going into my 5th year and am leading discovery and case management on a case with a $5 million budget (yeah!) with a rocket docket. Starting to understand why partners have no time to do substantive work: it’s all answering client questions and managing staff, associates, and reviewing partners. Any tips for the transition? I’ve never been too demanding from my colleagues and usually just pick up any slack myself. Now I need to motivate others and give direction.

Ideas for bday/xmas presents for mom? She’s going through some personal stuff and still hasnt settled into her new place so I dont want to get her materialistic goods that will take up more space when she’s still unpacking and buying things for the place. I’m tempted to give her an amex giftcard but feel its weird giving $ from child to parent and it may be viewed as impersonal? Maybe if i pair it with a personalized handmade gift or something? Thoughts?

My bf always takes my phone if his phone isn’t near/any other reason to use and i never care (we both have each other’s pw). I personally never look at his. Today, i asked if i could see his phone, didn’t tell him why, but truth is he was on his phone ALL night when we were cooking/hanging out and i was really curious. He freaked out and said no. After that, i told him to sleep on couch. He tried coming in to give some BS explanation and show it (after deleting shit?) how should i feel?
